Hi Seattle filers. We applied for AOS from B2 visa for my wife. Following is her timeline.

Jan/4/2020 - Mailed package to Chicago lockbox

Jan/6/2020 - Package received in Chicago

Feb/3/2020 - Biometrics Done

I have my interview for AOS next week for my K-1 visa. I’m just wondering if they will keep my Canadian passport until my green card is issued as I’d like to travel two days after my interview within the US but I’m nervous to book anything if they keep my passport and I won’t be able to fly.

TIA

They do not keep passports at AOS interviews.

I wish you get some good news soon. We are still waiting for my wife's EAD and it's already been about 2.5 months later than other people here and we are very disappointed. I wish at least the green card processing goes a little faster. please keep us updated here.

We received our EAD in mid-June. I know they are taking much longer now, but since we applied at the same time that’s wierd because I’m in an AOS thread for January filers and we all received our EADS almost at the same time.

i have read though that due to the backlog of EAD processing because of COVID, they are allowing the receipt of application along with a DL and SSN is serving as proof of work authorization! You should Google that!

My wife and I filed for her AOS in August 2019, have been waiting for an appointment since October 2019.

Is anyone actually getting an AOS interview in Seattle?  I originally calculated we should expect an interview appointment around December 2020 based on previous Seattle processing times (400+ days ugh) but due to COVID who knows how many months it will be pushed back...

I-129F Sent : 2018-07-06
I-129F NOA1 : 2018-07-13
I-129F NOA2 : 2019-02-01
NVC Received : 2019-02-08
Packet 3 Received : 2019-04-16
Packet 3 Sent : 2019-04-17
Packet 4 Received : 2019-04-24
Interview Date : 2019-06-05

Hello there

I’ve been patiently waiting as well and had to renew my EAD/AP once.

Here’s my AoS timeline:
1.Filed AoS in Dec 2018.

2.Case ready to be scheduled in Jan 2019.

3.Interview cancelled in June 2020.

4.Multiple email/online notifications between Case ready to be scheduled and Interview Cancelled in Oct 2020.

(Last update: Case ready to be sched)

It’s weird that I never received any interview schedule by mail but they were cancelling it somehow. Is there anybody here with the same experience?

Also, if you or if you know anybody here who has received their AoS interview schedule during the pandemic, can you share please how much time you had to prepare your docs/evidences from receipt of notice of interview to interview date.

Thank you!

Thank you!

My PD is May 2019 and I got RTS(Ready to be scheduled for an interview) in September 2019.

I had the same situation in July this year.
Without having any interview schedule received, I got an interview cancellation notification and a RTS notification on the same day.

From immigration forums, I read that address change update or EAD/AP renewal submission may cause such notifications, however neither of those applied in my case.
My lawyer said that it seems like a system and/or employee error that I can ignore.
