Hi everyone,

Does any of the German K1 filers know if the Consulate sends additional document/information requests out with the P3 - in addition to the checklist on their website?

I have all documents ready to go but I heard/read that you also need to provide all addresses of residence since age 16. Is this true? And if so, is there anything else they request on top of the P3 list?

Thank you!!

K1

This question was answered in the German subforum, so in case anyone ever searches for this answer: yes, you do need all addresses (including times) since age 16.

Do you know in which format we need to provide these addresses? I know all addresses and approximate moving dates, but I don't have address registration documents for most of them...

We received a document from the Consulate in Frankfurt (Germany) with Packet 3 that had 6 lines where you could write down City/Town, Province and Country as well as from when to when you lived there (only month and year). No further evidence in regards to the places where you lived is needed.

This awesome! thank you very much!

Regarding the part with receiving P3 via post, I read that in Spain some beneficiaries sent an email to the consulate, and asked for P3 via email to speed up the process. I was considering doing the same. Should I still try?

Can I also ask how long did it take after you get your case number from NVC? We waited a month for our case number, and it hasn't been shipped yet.

It's difficult for me to estimate the waiting time, but mine is like below. I wonder if my predictions about item 3, 5 and 6 are realistic.

1- NVC sends the case to Frankfurt on May 14 or 15 2019

2- Frankfurt receives it at the end of May (hopefully)

3- Frankfurt sends me P3 in mid June???

4- I send back P3 in mid June

5- They tell me now I can make an appointment in late June

6- I set my appointment in July???

Also I am not a German citizen, but just a resident with a limited residence permit, and I wonder if this would affect the processing times or anything else.

It wouldn't hurt to try. I have heard the same from many embassies that the beneficiary needs to email them for a P3.

Well, you are applying for a US visa, why does the US care if you are a German citizen or a limited residence?

It took us 6 weeks to get the NVC notice (it should only take a max of 6 weeks, they went 1 day over the max). Check our timeline to compare to yours, since we are only about 2 months ahead of you it will be very similar.

Since this is for the Frankfurt consulate, they do indeed send a mail for the P3, the petitioner does not need to email the consulate in advanced.

We received our NVC case number FRN... But it looks like we will wait for 2 weeks for our case to be shipped to the embassy.

I checked your timeline and it looks interesting that you get P3 on the very same day the consulate received your case. Is this correct or am I missing something? Because as I understand first consulate will receive our case, and then they will ship the P3. So can it be the same day?

Nevertheless, I can see that your process took 2 months after getting NVC number, so mine will take longer than yours. Thanks a lot for the information!

it matters for tourist visas. you need to have a permanent residence permit (at least this is what they say)

i also expect them to be used to seeing german documents, and not my country's birth certificate or police record etc. so they might give me additional difficulties
