I talked to an immigration Lawyer and they told me i can submit the first divorce certificate at the interview. It is not a serious problem.

You omitted to mention you've been married twice. Huge problem.

Forgeting to include the document is one thing, lying on the application is far worse.

I forget to include, just thought i should include my recent divorce.

Application asks for all previous marriages, not only the most recent one.

If you withheld a previous marriage that could be misrepresentation, not a simple mistake.

Misrepresentation is a huge problem.

You don't get to choose what information you want to share with the government. Immigration is one of the most strict processes you have to through in the US. They do extensive background checks on your life.

You can't give them ANY amunition to deny you.

Not to mention the Nigerian embassy is the toughest in the world and you just gave them reasons to slap misrep on your petition. Hopefully it won't happen, but there is a chance.

By God grace, it wont happen.

God doesn’t decide on your application.  This could be a serious issue, no matter what the lawyer says. Why did you omit it? Did you think it might reflect badly? (I don’t think anyone buys that you forgot you were married.)

Nigeria is not the toughest embassy in the world. How many spousal visa interviews have you seen that were denied other than those with history of previous marriage to a USC and misreprentation/ban?

Always say what you know.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will follow your lead about the explanation and get the certified copy of the first divorce decree. Thanks a lot for the love and advice. God will enlarge your coast in Jesus Name.

Exactly.. my advise will be for the petitioner to write a detailed letter explaining the circumstances to the Consular Officer via the beneficiary.

It is very important to read all the instructions when filling out visa applications. The instructions are clear, you have to put down the information about EVERY SINGLE marriage you've been in.

Ok sorry, ONE of the toughest embassies.

Did I say he will get denied? No? But there is a chance and consul will have a reason. They might accept his explanation or not.

Also people need to stop involving god in immigration.. god doesn't sit there in office slapping approval stamps on your petitions. ;)
