Hello fellow friends,

One more question for you all

1. How do we know whether to file the I864 EZ, or the regular I864?

2. Me and wife file taxes together and we are using both income to show we meet the criteria, is my spouse considered to be a joint sponsor?

Thank you

Hi guys

I am glad i found this forum. I am a US citizen and applied for my step-kids. I-30 approved yesterday. Do you have any idea how long it will take for the visa. They are from Haiti.

Thanks

Welcome! Our application was sent to NVC in October and they just got to us. So 60-90 days seems to be appropriate right now.

.Thanks for your reply. Do you mean NVC just started the process or you got a scheduled interview at the consulate?

So, I started this thread and literally everyone is gone. lol

I finally got Documentarily Qualified and is waiting on interview date. However, I just read on another thread that June 2019 folks are still waiting on interview dates, I can't believe it.

Hello 4jacques, I filed I-130 petition for my mom in January 2019, it got approved in December 2019 and moved to NVC in January 2020, we are almost done submitting all the documents for the interview, please let us know how did the interview go for your mother in law. Also do you have any Health insurance quotes and proof of any income/assets that your mother in law has to overcome the new public charge rule? Since it’s new it’s hard to find any information on how that change affected interviews so far.

Hello Milasa,

I hope you are well. On our side here things look slow.

We file the petition Sept 2018 and was approved Sept 2019 and moved to NVC. By March 2020 we became documentarily qualified but at this point there is a one year backlogged in Haiti. This means its a year or more just to get an interview date, so the wait continues. It is crazy, unfair and ridiculous but those people in Haiti causing chaos result in the embassy not being able to work ...so, thats where we are. I am praying for a miracle in the midst of all that though.

I hope everything will go smoothly and your mother in law will have her visa in a few months. I will keep you posted with our progress.

Hello guys. Its been a while. I've been all over the place back and forth and haven't had a chance to get on the forum.. My mother's case had been approved and gone for interview. Initially she was asked to bring in another sponsor as our original sponsor was not accepted. She was put on administrative processing and I got another sponsor and sent the documents. Her visa has since been approved and picked up. She was given a 4 month visa validity. We are now awaiting my dad's case as he was required to obtain a 3-way DNA test. We are awaiting the results of the test before visa processing will continue. Unfortunately the corona virus pandemic has caused significant delays to the whole process. Fingers crossed now.

She had interview in January but was put on administrative processing to provide another joint sponsor. Had that taken care of in February and was issued visa on March 5th valid for only 4 months.
