Hello everyone,

My husband became a U.S citizen today and I am in heaven because I want to file for his mother A.S.A.P. I am creating this timeline so that we can see how things move along with August & September Petition Filers. I think combining the two month makes sense because September Filers will get the signal when August starts coming in.

Good luck with the process everyone. These are the documents that I am planning on attaching to the I130.

Please find enclosed the following required and supporting documents:

  • Form I-130 (signed by petitioner)

  • Form G-1145

  • Authorized Credit Card Payment of ($535) G-1450 form

  • Money order for I-130 filing fee ($535)

  • Copy of petitioner’s birth certificate (translated)

  • Copy of petitioner’s Naturalization certificate

  • Copy of petitioner’s marriage certificate (translated)

  • Copy of beneficiary’s birth certificate (translated)

  • Photos of petitioner and beneficiary’s together (I think this one is for NVC

  • Am I missing anything?

- Sending G-1450 AND money order is a formula for rejection at the lockbox stage (Phoenix/Chicago). Send only one.

- Any translation also usually requires a copy of native language document to be sent.

- Petitioner's marriage certificate not required

- Beneficiary's birth certificate not required

- Photos not required

General FYI - Beneficiary's marriage certificate required only if he is the father of the petitioner.

It will be definitely be rejected with two different forms of payment. Someone on VJ on a different topic did the same and their whole pack was resent back to them.

Hello,

I am following the application instruction and I need some help.

Part I - Question 3 /4 are not application - do I respond no or leave them blank. This is a petition for my mother.

Part II - I naturalized and used to have an Alien number, since I have naturalized do I still need to report the A-# for this application? Or is this directed toward permanent resident.

Thanks

Part I - Q3 Related to brother/sister you can leave blank.

Q4 LPR /Citizenship through adoption - it is a clear yes or no answer!

Part II - Whether you are a citizen through naturalization  - you always have the A-file number for life with USCIS. In fact, your I-130 receipt and approval notices are going to mention your A#. So might as well give it, so they quickly find your info.

Part II - I beg to differ. You had the A# as a LPR alien but with the I-130 after you become a US citizen you do not need to include it in the form. Your naturalization number is enough for USCIS to pull your file.

😀and the Naturalization Certificate also has the A# on it... forgot?

Some incorrectly think that the A# becomes obsolete as soon as one becomes citizen, which is so far from the truth! Any immigration matters related to you are tied by the unique A# whether you are naturalized or not.

Whether you provide your A# or not they are going to find it and print it on the I-130 receipt and approval! So, no need to feel bad if you have to still provide it as a citizen. It is not making one any lesser !!!

I understand that. The certificate definitely has it but the A# I won't say becomes obsolete but its superseded by the naturalization hence there is a naturalization number on the certificate. When you file I-130, whether you include the A# or not will have no bearing whatsoever on the application. Don't get me wrong, we can include it but its not necessary once you are a citizen;

Hello Mae,

Welcome. I put N/A whenever possible so they noticed I did not just skip the information. However, for the section you are referring to, I left it blank because it is clearly referring to PR.
