My Fiance had applied for study visa twice in 2015  for USA and was denied both the times. We at that time were not engaged and had plans to complete our education in USA and then get married but unfortunately that did not work out. So now i have applied for k1- visa in Dec 2017 and was approved on Aug 8th. When he was filling the DS-160, there was a question about if the applicant has ever been refused a visa to which I guess we are supposed to answer yes. Right?

We are scared and don't know if this might  create a problem for us at the interview for his visa. Does anyone has any information on this or has been in such situation??????

Any kind of help will be really appreciated!

Thank you!

Yes, you need to answer yes. The previous refuse visa will not be a problem for K-1. They might ask about it. So, just answer everything truthfully.

My fiance and I are filling this out. It's best to just be honest because they will know if you applied and were denied.

He needs to put Yes. Saying yes to prior visa refusal will not affect k1 visa but he could be denied the k1 visa for lying if he puts NO in that section.

Thank you everyone for such quick replies. We put yes in there and explained about it in the section provided.

Also if you guys know, does he the beneficiary needs to provide funds documents or my I-134 is enough? I am making above the poverty line and have a pretty decent income. Does he still needs to show his funds document in interview?

another thing I have tax return for past two years only as I was residing in India before that for my education and wasnt really working. Will the tax return for two year be enough????

Thank you again for all the help!
