IT people who want to work remotely in the US are getting H1B or other legal work visas, not B1/B2. If they are getting B1/B2, they managed to properly convince the consular officer that they are visiting for strictly tourist reasons only and are absolutely NOT going to work remotely during their stay in the US. However, as far as I know, IT people are not even applying for B1/B2 because it is hard to convince someone you will not be working illegally when your work is over the Internet.

It's literally the law to treat every applicant for tourist visa as having "immigrant intent". You failed to overcome this assumption. You probably didn't even realize that that assumption was there to begin with. I'm sorry this happened but it's clear you were not prepared.

Probably because they convinced the CO to have strong ties to their home country or country or residence, remember each visa is handled personally so don't compare your situation with others. Maybe others had properties, family, children, investments, and assets that MIGHT have been seen as ties. Still, people with all of this I just described get rejected sometimes.

 

I had properties back home, an stable job position and a travel background and I got denied. I've seen students, who never traveled and without any assets and they got approved.
