hello, my name is alexandra.

so short background about me. i met my fiance online, i am a single mother living in indonesia. we have been together since 2015. met each other on 2016 twice, we filed the k1 visa form and was received by usca on novermber 2017. we used lawyer service because we think we want it to be thorough because the fact that i am a single mother.

around march, they ask for more details on my whereabouts, and i fill out more info on that. around june my fiance got a call from the lawyer asking about a case that he got back in 2010. it was dismissed and never went to court. so he got the papers on that, saying that the case was dismissed. no charge, nothing. and on july he finalize the dismissal paper and send it back. until today we havent heard anything about the visa. the lawyer keep saying it is on process. so i have few question

1. the last time we met was 2016 on september. almost 2 years since we see each other, should he come visit me again ?

2. is there anyone with similar case? or maybe know why the visa is taking so long, is it normal?

 any advice?

1. Well, you met within 2 years from the date of filing the paperwork so you - should - be fine. But of course meeting in person again won't hurt.

2. Yes, it's normal. I hope that your fiance mentioned that case from 2010 in the original petition, trying to hide it would be pretty bad.

Also don't 100% believe the lawyer, if you have your case number you can always check the status on your own, either online or by calling the USCIS.

Definitively ask her. It's not the lawyer's petition, it's YOURS and you should be the main person interested in what's going on.
