Packet 3 lost by Guangzhou?

Hi all,

My fiance received his packet 3 from the Guangzhou consulate requesting some documents, which he sent on 8/2/18. The courier tracking shows the packet was delivered to the consulate and signed for on 8/6/2018. We expected to hear back by now, but when I reached out to the consulate for an update they told me they never received the documents. It's extremely hard to talk to anyone there as they don't answer questions over the phone, the only way to communicate with them is via email which takes them a day or two to respond to each message. Does anyone know how long this should take? Is there a chance they've received the documents but haven't processed them yet? Or should we assume the packet has been lost and resend it?

I am sorry I don’t have the answer for you as I am going through the same thing.   I have been waiting for my packet 3 forever. And like you I have not been able to contact anyone at my interviewing embassy Guangzhou.     😞

Thank you so much, everyone!

Sorry to hear that. They got back to me and let me know they don't have the packet, guess they lost it. We ended up resending everything. 😕

I see.  Can you let me know how they contacted you?

Also, what are you having to send back to them?  Do you mean the original application too?

Thank you so much, everyone!

I sent them an email using the form on the Guangzhou consulate website. They had contacted my fiancé asking for a bunch of documents and passport pictures and he had sent them but they lost it. So he resent it all.

I am still waiting for my packet 3.  Do you have any suggestions?

Hmm, we got our packet 3 really quickly. Did you get a letter from NVC telling you they sent your case to Guangzhou? I would email Guangzhou and ask them if they have an update. Make sure they didn't send it and it got lost in the mail.
