@mommyd Correct, I provided two payments--check and credit card. At least the package didn't get lost! My fear was all my documents went missing.

Hey ipatientlywaiting,

I'm not sure if you have read this one but this is what I found from the USCIS website, " You may pay the fee with a money order, personal check, or cashier’s check.  When filing at a USCIS Lockbox facility, you may also pay by credit card using Form G-1450, Authorization for Credit Card Transactions. If you pay by check, you must make your check payable to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Please note that service centers are not able to process credit card payments.

With all the applications I did since AOS in 2010, I've been using money order from USPS to pay all the fees and never had an issue with it (but that just my own personal experience).

I hope everything will work out and goes well with your application.

Good luck!🙂

@dzyrhetom Hi. I am so happy to see your response. I felt relieve seeing your timeline. Congrats, your mom is on her way now to be with you. Btw, if you dont mind, while waiting for approval, is there any tips like documents me and my mom should prepare ? In that way i can atleast make a list , i have some list but i want to hear from present experiences of filers what they did after getting approval.

Thank you so so much

Hey mommyd,

Within those 7 months of waiting (time flies so fast- I just didn't realize it plus I work full time) I was able to gather docs  from my mom's part such as police criminal record certificates (or police clearance) - My mom has lived in 3 different countries before for more than 6 months, so given that facts I'm required to provide the said docs. I gathered scan copy of my mom's passport biodata page, new copies of her birth certificate and marriage certificates. Now on my part, I also had to scan docs and made photocopies for my I-864 stuff such as the 3 -year (2015, 2016, 2017) tax transcripts and W-2's. Just in case it's time for you to submit those docs, there you have it ready!

In each application or petition that we're doing , it can be stressful and overwhelming we just have to be prepared for it and be done with it!

  Hey!
Pay attention to the documents sent to the USCIS.
After eight months of waiting, we got RFE. :(  (Potomac)
They did not accept translated (multilingual) birth and marriage files from the
Vital Statistics Bureau .
Interestingly, such a birth certificate was accepted when my daughter was naturalized.
Everything you send what USCIS and NVC should be translated by a sworn translator.
This way you will avoid problems ... 🙂

" SUBMIT ENGLISH TRANSLATION If any document is not in English it must be submitted with a certified English translation. You submitted foreign language documents that appears to be a Birth Certificate for ******* and ********. Submit complete and English translation and a photocopy of the corresponding foreign language document. Translations submitted without the relating foreign language documents are not acceptable. Extract or summary translations of the original document are not acceptable. The translator must certify that the translation is complete and accurate, and that he or she is competent to translate from the foreign language to English "

================================================

At the end of the translation it is worth adding a rule:

do hereby certify that the above is true and exact translation of the whole original document in the Polish/ your language/ language, as it was presented to me. I am familiar with both Polish/  your language/ and English languages and have made this translation to the best of my knowledge, ability and belief.
