Hey Everyone!

I am currently filling out the N-400 paperwork online and I'm a bit confused about the following question:

Have you taken a trip outside of the United States in the past 5 years?

I qualify for citizenship based on being married to a US citizen for the past 3 years. Before moving here

in January 2015 we lived in Germany. So, I have no lived in the US for 5 years.

I am obviously including any trips we took since January 2015 until now.

Do I have to include trips I took while still living in my home country prior to January 2015?

"The residence requirement is reduced to three years for spouses of U.S. citizens.

They must have been lawfully admitted as permanent residents and

since admission have lived in " marital union" with their spouse for the three years immediately before filing their naturalization application."

You're eligible  "after"  january ( minus 90 days, so november?), or unless your spouse was employed by  the U.S. government/company while abroad (can file now).

Look into INA 316 Requirements of naturalization.
