EAD notice question..... how will they let me know

I keep checking on the USCIS website but it still shows my wife's K1 is in process... she has been here almost a year!

I have the notify by text and notify by email turned on .... I just don't have much faith in them based on the K1 notice never coming electronically ... we did receive them by mail.

 

my question is ... how will they contact me first? It should be any day  and we are very excited 🙂 

 

any insight is appreciated

You should have received a new case number with the NOA1 for the EAD. You will need use that number to check the case status, not the I-129F case number. For awhile it will probably say "application received", before it moves to "case approved". 

 

In our case, we first received text message notifications. We actually didn't get an electronic notice for our K1 approval either (only a letter in the mail), but for EAD/AP and AOS we did receive all of the electronic notifications. Received the physical approval letter in the mail about a week later. 

 

EAD approval is taking anywhere from 4-6 months now. I hope your VJ timeline estimate will be accurate, but also don't be alarmed if it does take a few additional weeks to be approved.
