Privacy Act or Visa Application?

I did not, I went with my gut feeling and did the fingerprints under the visa application. I got a response back from Montreal and this was their reply in the screenshot. I had asked them to clarify which police check documents where needed and under what reason. Literally everyone I've talked to who had their fingerprints done wrote visa application for the reason. I've never heard of someone using the Privacy Act as a reason for the k1 Visa. So we will see what happens at the interview (I will have the name based, vulnerable sector that I had done for work, and the fingerprints). If it ends up they won't accept the fingerprints because of the "visa application" reason I will just have to redo the prints and submit to the RCMP again...really hoping it all works out. I will update again after the interview.

Thank you! Not sure, soon! I just got my email today to book to the interview and health check, so trying to figure out stuff out now. 

March 2015 : Met Online (tumblr)

12/04/2017 : I-129F Packet Sent

12/07/2017 : NOA 1 Received

06/18/2018 : NOA 2 Received (194 days)

08/08/2018 : Packet 3 received

08/29/2018 : Packet 4 received

10/17/2018 : Interview - APPROVED! (314 days)

11/06/2018 : Visa in hand

11/06/2018 : POE - Montreal, Ontario 

From sending of I-129F petition to POE - 573 days.

For anyone still following this, there's a whole new situation unfolding about which kind of certificate is required. Looks like they're changing the rules on September 10th.

 

  • 10/30/2018 POE on K-1 visa
  • 12/03/2018 Married 😍
  • 12/07/2018 Sent AOS, EAD and AP forms 
  • 12/13/2018 NOA1
  • 12/21/2018 Received Biometrics appointment letter
  • 12/26/2018 Successful walk-in biometrics 
  • 03/20/2019 USCIS online case status for I-485 changed to "Case is Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview" 
  • 06/10/2019 EAD/AP expedite request submitted with evidence through Congressman's office
  • 06/17/2019 New Card is Being Produced! (EAD)
  • 11/15/2019 Interview! Approved 4 hours later
  • 11/23/2019 Received Green Card in the mail
  • 8/19/2021 Sent Removal of Conditions form
  • 8/24/2021 Application received, NOA1
  • 10/25/2021 Received biometrics waiver (dated 10/21/21)
  • 11/22/2021 Received 24-month extension letter
  • 11/7/2022 Filed N-400 Online
  • 4/6/2023 Naturalization Interview
  • 5/12/2023 Oath Ceremony

Thank you for sharing. Looks I'm getting another fingerprint check done. So much regret lol.
