My wife went to mail off her forms for the police clearance to Qatar. LBC would not accept her package because it had money in it ($10.). This is understandable and she was able to hide it without anyone seeing it. She then went over to the Fedex and they wanted 7700php to mail it! They want to see the documents she was sending and look through everything.

My question is, can you not mail a package without someone going through it, or is this commonplace in the Philippines? Also 7700php is an astronomical fee, am I right?

7700 is pretty bad to say the least. Try DHL because it was like 2000 for my SIL to send us a envelope from the Philippines.

When you send the package don't declare their is cash in the envelope. Many have done this after getting turned away and had no problems. Remember your mileage may vary.

it happened to me as well. the guy in LBC told me that all documents are to be screened in their xray and if they found out that there's money inside they will get the money. same rule applies to DHL and fedex. no money inside the documents. i dont have a choice but to request the police clearance  in DHL which will took 2-3mos :(

They search the package, they won't let her send it without looking through it.

thats too much. you can actually report them. DHL has a service for requesting of police clearance in qatar. all you have to do is give them the documents and $31 fee plus the authentication fee for 3k plus pesos. they will be the one who will process everything.

They say this because there is multiple authenticated documents in the package.
