Trying to Find Easiest/Fastest Process for Fiance

Whatever you do always go by the law, USCIS, NVC websites. Don’t do any shortcuts but be patient. As I can see you’re in a hurry, therefore, K1 would be a way to go which takes around 8-10 months.

Another thought I had:  does your fiancee's country offer DCF through the US embassy?  Or, can you move there, marry, file for a CR-1, and stay with her in her country during the process?

That would be the only real (legal) work-around to the separation component of fiance/spouse immigration.

True, although typically one must reside there for at least 6 months, and they may or may not accept a tourist status for DCF purposes. But it is a potentially viable path that would be slightly faster.

Do everything by the LAW. No exceptions.

Realize that there will be some separation period and there will be some money.

I am an LPR and have a pending I-130 (F2A)

She has her B-2 Interview next week and fingers crossed. Worst I'm out of USD 200 and I spend my money in India instead of in USA.

Only if there are "exceptional circumstances" in OP's case, https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/international-offices/greece-uscis-athens-field-office:

Quote

U.S. citizens residing in this field office’s jurisdiction but outside of Greece may file with the U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate having jurisdiction over the U.S. citizen's place of residence if the USCIS Athens field office director determines that there are exceptional circumstances.

Salutations all,

First off, I am an American citizen, born and raised.  However, I am engaged to a woman from Albania and am wondering what would be the easiest and quickest way for her to get here.  She currently has a Tourist Visa, which she just received in July.  We're looking to get married as soon as possible, but want to make sure she can come into the country to stay and want to know the best route to do it.  I know that there's a fiance visa, but I've heard it takes around 9 months for its issuance.  I've heard marriage visas take longer!  Is it possible that her tourist visa could get her here?  Is that legal?  I'm not trying to do anything against the law here; I just really want to do the most expedited process available.  Can she use her tourist visa to get here and marry?  What are the laws around that?  I appreciate any helpful information that anyone might have!

Hi

Using tourist visa is illegal for marriage and k1 nowadays taking 7 months and CR1 10 to 12 months choice is yours after k1 approval your fiancee have to wait for another 7 months for employment authorisation on the other hands CR1 after few weeks your fiancee allow to work or might 2 months maximum.

Am I understanding OP's follow up post of intending to file for the CR-1 while the fiance is still in the US and burn up 6 months of the process inside the US before returning to the immigrant's home country?

One thing I have learned from talking with you all is that the process is not easy, quick, or cheap.  ;)  I want to thank you enormously for all the help you've provided and food for thought that you've given me (well, most of you. :))  I've talked it over with her, and it sounds like we're going to go with the K1, which I'll look to file as soon as I can here.  That will hopefully get her here in the summer or a little before of next year.  We agree that this sounds like the best route for us based on all the wonderful advice I've received.  Thanks again, all.  There will undoubtedly be more in the coming months!

If you have any questions on your journey, we’re here to help you. Best of luck to you two!

Interesting. I’ve just caught up on the whole thread in one sitting and I don’t remember seeing one single post that would convince me that the K-1 was preferable. There were even 2 K-1 people here that both said they wish they had done the CR-1.

Would you mind letting me know which post(s) or poster(s) helped you reach that decision? Just for my own curiosity.

There is no need to wait for work or travel authorization after entry with the CR-1. The CR-1 visa (upon endorsement by CBP) is equivalent to a green card: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/temporary-i-551-stamps-and-mrivs

I'm curious as well.  My husband was unemployed in the Netherlands when we applied, so being unemployed in the US while waiting for the EAD would have been same thing.  Yet we still did the CR-1 because of insta GC on entry and lower cost and have no regrets.  I am guessing time > money in this poster's case?
