Change of Address after NOA-2

I received the NOA-2 that the K-1 application had been sent to the NVC. I submitted a change of address on the USCIS Change of Address form online after the visa had been forwarded to NVC. I received an email from the USCIS that it needs to be changed with the NVC. Ops! Options are call, email or write NVC with new address. Has anyone had this experience? Any suggestions as to best way to change address once the application is with the NVC to avoid delays / confusion. I have not had any notices from the NVC yet so don't have any notices, case # etc from them. My mail continues to be delivered to a UPS store mail service at the old address that I can call at any time to see what is there and they will forward or scan and email, so no problem getting notifications at the old address if needed. By the way, I never received an email or case update to my USCIS online account regarding the NOA-2. Only a postal mail notification. Don't count on USCIS updates by email or your online account.

If you’re at NVC stage there’s no more notification from USCIS to the US address so you really have no reason to change your address. Everything now is on the beneficiary’s end and the only address that matters is what they put down on the DS-160 (beneficiary’s) and the form to where their passport is going to be mailed to after approval. After beneficiary arrives in the US and you get married, file for AOS with the new address.

You should have already called the NVC and gotten your case number and invoice number. It only takes 2-3 weeks from NOA2, and in your timeline you said you received NOA2 on 7-18-2018. You should have case number and be tracking thru CEAC. Your K1 petition is probably already at the embassy in " Ready" status waiting for you to send in Your packet 3, schedule your medical, and get your interview appointment depending on how the embassy works in Columbia.

I agree with the other poster, forget about changing the address, your a week or two from Visa in hand if you get your hustle on. Took me 44 days from NOA2 to Visa approval, and I got my hustle on believe me.....LOL.

An update. I talked with NVC and got my NVC case number and confirmed that they still held the visa and it was "in line" to be sent to the embassy. Not able to get a timeline but at least confirmed where it is in the process. I am supposed to be sent an email when it is sent to Bogota embassy. He suggested if I had not heard from them by the end of the month (10 days from now) I should call again. I would not have known to call if it were not for the help on this site. Thanks again.

Another update. This morning I called NVC, got the case number etc. I asked why they had had my application for over a month when typically they have them for just several days before forwarding to the embassy. I received no explanation except if I haven't heard from them by email by the end of the month, call again.  This afternoon, I get the email from NVC that the application will now be forwarded to Bogota. My call definitely prompted some action. I never would have thought to call if not for the prompting from messages on this site (which gave the phone number and more). Lessons learned. If you have received the NOA-2 from USCIS that your approved application has been forwarded to NVC, and you don't receive an email notice from them within a couple of weeks (some say less), call!!!
