About to send I-129f in. I have some remaining questions

I know these are some dumb questions but I don't feel comfortable going through with the application without having all my questions answered. Do I need to literally put "N/A" or "None" on every line that does not apply to me? I've seen in videos people just wrote them big over most sections of the application that did not apply to them. Another question is is using a paperclip and a normal folder the best way to put the form together for them to read? Is it better to just send in the real version of my birth certificate since I have copies? These are the last few things I wonder about before I send the application in.

If you send the original you will not get it back from USCIS. I mean there is a way but you have to file forms and wait 1yr or more. Do not send originals.

The policy is "originals" required but a copy is ok and if asked you need to present the original in person ( only if asked of you). Its never really asked unless they suspect your doc was altered.

For the N/A issue different people say different things. Some insist you need to fill out everything with n/a or none. Some say it's fine to leave it blank.

Either way is fine just be consistent. If you enter none or n/a then do it in every space. If you leave it blank leave them all blank. Unless the instructions specifically state enter N/A in the field

1. Just put N/A to any questions that does apply to you.

2. You can use both paper and binder clips

3. Send a copy of your birth certificate

You want to risk an RFE? go for it.

Another question is is using a paperclip and a normal folder the best way to put the form together for them to read?

yeaah keep it super simple. they rip it all apart anyways.

do NOT send originals. send copies. you will need originals later in the process for the interview

I left everything that wasnt applicable blank, as it's just easier to read from an administrative perspective. nothing to do with laziness. their workload is insane as it is, why make it more taxing. I didn't get an rfe. in fact my visa is being delivered tomorrow. if you are super paranoid though, put n/a or none, as it states to do this in the i-129f instructions.

@LeesaMarie Thank you...everytime I think I have asked everything I've wanted another question comes into my mind. How important would you say a table of contents are? Are there certain days that  are better than others as far as sending the app in?

No there are not certain days that sending the PETITION is better.  Remember this is not an application, this is a petition.

The table of contents is so that YOU know everything is there.  In reality, the USCIS doesn't care.

@NikLR so basically I don't need it right? Is there a quick simple checklist here? I'm pretty sure I got everything but I'm always careful.

I would make the cover letter so you know that YOU included everything according to our guides.  They're located either at the top of a page on the PC version or in a menu to the right on the mobile version.

Can someone please elaborate more on this part from the checklist: IMPORTANT!
Make TWO copies of the entire package before you send it in. This includes the money orders too. You want to have a perfect replica of the package you are sending in. All Forms that you submit must be originals with original signatures. Supporting Evidence that you submit may be photocopies. Retain ALL original supporting Evidence since the USCIS has the right to check them by issuing an RFE (Request For Evidence). If you receive an RFE, follow the direction exactly, and make two copies of what you sent back. During any future interviews the USCIS may also want to examine the original supporting evidence.

I mean the entire packet ?😓

make a cover letter. I didn't make a second one. they scan everything now. I have all of my original documents, and everything else is saved electronically. while the guide is helpful it's written to cover everything and is outdated. being confident you could reproduce the document if required is good enough. unless for some reason the consulate for your beneficiary specifically asks for this.

@LeesaMarie Thank you, I have mostly everything in google drives. It didn't come to mind when I read that part of the checklist. I was going to send this thing in a few days ago but I just wanted to review everything once again before sending it. This site is growing on me. Maybe I'll start a check list like how some people have of when they submitted and receive things.
