Hi everyone

Im a Canadian citizen living in Canada and im currently 3 months into waiting now after filing a CR-1 visa to go be with my husband in the USA. We got married this last April and filed for CR-1 end of May, now we are just waiting.

My question is

  • Would my current CR-1 visa im waiting for be affected by me having a previous visa?  I feel like it would take longer for us to get the CR-1 then it generally would for some reason, but im not sure.

(Back in 2011 I went and moved to the USA under a k-1 visa (with a different guy, my ex husband now) and ended up giving up my greencard/status and moved back to my home country Canada in 2014.)

No, but they will ask for your divorce decree. Also don't be surprised if you are not asked something about it during the interview.

Agreed. It can be a flag in some cases, but your circumstances aren't likely to raise any actual scrutiny (Canadian, abandoned green card, etc.). That's not consistent with fraudulent behavior.

I see no problem as long as this was properly disclosed on any form that asks about it.  How was question ten at the bottom left of page 5 answered?
