Help please!?!

I had my interview on Friday and it went wonderfully and my visa was granted!

However on Friday night my fiances mothers was rushed into hospital and is now facing the end of her life. I need to book flights and get over there asap but the embassy have my passport and I have no idea how long it will take to get it back. Is there anyone I can contact or any way of expediting this so I can get my visa back quicker? Please help, I'm desperate.

Unfortunately I don't believe it's a emergency case. Since it's not immediate family for u I don't foresee them expedite ur visa. U can call and speak to someone but, believe u r going to have to wait.

(0)20 207499-9000 can try that number also

Good luck.

IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

You could have the visa back by Friday; at least by next Monday. Those are average times, but anything can happen so no guarantee.

London Immigrant Visa Unit does not take phone calls. If you get to a person, it is the Non-Immigrant Unit and they are not the ones who have the file or can help.

Contacting the IV unit is by contact form (email) only. https://uk.usembassy.gov/iv-contact/

Note that they state the following:

We aim to respond to visa inquiries within 5 working days of receipt.  If you have not had a response within 5 working days, please check your email provider’s “spam” folder, BEFORE resending a form.

That doesn’t sound like a reason for an expedite because it’s not an immediate relative to you. Also, you’re done in the process. There’s nothing left to expedite. You should have visa in hands on the next 10 days.

I doubt at this stage they can expedite since you were approved already. But you can always contact the embassy. Hopefully you receive your visa soon enough to make your trip.

Are you collecting your passport or having it couriered? I got my passport back 7 days after the interview (I also went through London). I collected from the depot. I flew here 6 days later. Once you have your passport, go to the airport and get the next flight.
