Hi guys just want to ask if a police clearance is needed where I have worked for the last two years. but I'm already back in my country in the Philippines last June. We haven't filed yet for k1 visa but plan to in September. I'm just bothered if I should need a police clearance in Saudi where I have worked cause I didn't get one, thinking I'll not need it because I'll be residing in the Philippines for more than 6 months once the petition is approved. I've read in some site that

a police clearance is needed in the US embassy for interview. I only have my NBI clearance in the Philippines now.

Yes, if you lived in another country you'll be asked for a police clearance

Instructions are pretty clear. You need a police clearance from every country where you ever lived longer than 6 months.

Really? But I'm back residing already in the Philippines. I just stayed there for work, I'm not a resident in Saudi. Plus I'm not going back in Saudi anymore.

It doesn't matter. You lived there for 2 years means you need a police certificate. Even if you'd lived there 20 years ago, you'd still need to provide police certificate.

Is that so? Cause I thought I'm not going to need one, once we file the K1 I'm already residing in the Philippines. By the way I'm non-Saudi, I just worked there.

I'm not British either but I've worked there for a year so I need a police certificate from there.

Doesn't matter if you "just " worked there. If you lived in that country, you need a police clearance.

In general, yes that is the case. But as noted in the other thread (please keep this discussion in this thread moving forward, thanks!), that's actually not the case for Saudi Arabia for non-Saudi nationals who reside outside of KSA.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/SaudiArabia.html

" Exceptions:  Police clearances are unavailable for third country nationals who no longer reside in the Kingdom.  They are also unavailable for third country nationals who are not legal residents. "

My now-wife interviewed in Manila last year after working in KSA for ~5 years. She had a police certificate just in case, but it was never requested or submitted. They only requested her NBI clearance (PI's equivalent).

Thank you for the concise explanation! I got worried cause if ever they need one I can't get it even if I want to cause it needs personal appearance. I do have NBI clearance from Philippines.  Thanks again. 😊
