Mark Penn wrote an editorial asking why the media isn't hammering the FBI/DOJ on these concerns.

 

"After the FBI fired Mr. Steele as a confidential informant for violating bureau rules, said Kimberley Strassel in her Wall Street Journal “Potomac Watch” column Friday, Mr. Ohr began “feeding information to the FBI” from Mr. Steele. He did this more than 60 times, said Mr. Penn.

All the while, said Ms. Strassel, “Mr. Ohr failed to disclose on financial forms that his wife, Nellie, worked alongside Mr. Steele in 2016, getting paid by [Glenn Simpson, co-founder of Fusion] Mr. Simpson for anti-Trump research. …

“For all Mr. Ohr’s misdeeds,” continued Ms. Strassel, “the worse misconduct is by the FBI and Justice Department. It’s bad enough that the bureau relied on a dossier crafted by a man in employ of the rival presidential campaign. Bad enough that it never informed the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of that dossier’s provenance. And bad enough that the FBI didn’t fire Mr. Steel as a confidential human source in September 2016 when it should have been obvious he was leaking FBI details to the press to harm Mr. Trump’s electoral chances. It terminated him only when it was absolutely forced to, after Mr. Steele gave an on-the-record interview Oct. 31, 2016.”

Calling this “an absolutely stunning development suggesting a ‘deep state’ conspiracy hidden from superiors driven on the basis of undisclosed dollars ultimately from the opposition candidate going to the wife of a DOJ official,” Mr. Penn said “the mainstream media not only ignores the story while in the throes of Omarosa fever, but suggests only tin-hat conspiracy theorists would believe anything is wrong.”"
