Physical presence evidence

Do they normally ask to document physical presence in cases where NO trips of more than 6 mo or NO frequent trips were taken (physical presence way over 30 mo and continuous presence uninterrupted)? How much of scrutiny should one normally expect at the interview re physical presence. What kind of documentation is usually required. For example, old passports don't show exit stamps, just entry stamps. Is this an issue? In my case, I can show: pay stubs and employment verification, tax returns, phone bills (showing calls from the US for every mo but not every day), rent checks and Uber receipts covering a few days roughly every month. I don't have an active lease (pay-per-month) or a car (don't drive) and my bank accounts are not very active (I usually use cash).  

 

Do they request evidence for every single day of physical presence (up to the minimum of 30 mo)? I don't hear too much about this here but I'm trying to get ready (saving every receipt, etc). So in your experience, did they ask to show, for example, daily transactions (shopping receipts, etc), for 30 months of required physical presence? In N-400 instructions they only refer to cases where the applicant was absent for more than 6 mo at a time. Thanks!

The physical presence requirement is determined only by looking at your total time abroad, as evidenced by exit/entry controls at the US border, which USCIS can get from their own database searches when looking at your travel history---whether you have passport stamps or not.

Not an issue.  My foreign passports have never been stamped upon entry or exit.  All of my travel dates were estimated on my application to the best of my recollection over the years.

No.  All they look at is your time abroad as evidenced through any passport stamps (if you have any), and their own background checks (before your interview) regarding any travel.

No.  All they look at is your time abroad as evidenced through any passport stamps (if you have any), and their own background checks (before your interview) regarding any travel.

Idk if it helps, but we were out of the country 4months prior to interview. We did not even have proof to show we were residing in the US at interview because we were not residing there. But, he never asked anything about it. We just told him we were over there taking care of my wife's mother, which we were.
