Have they gotten back to you yet?

Where did this wrong address come from? It was just a totally random PO box they mailed to? You have no connection to this PO box, never used it on any forms or anything like that?

Yes- the other thread says to send a new 765 and yes you will have to wait 6-8 months.

If it was USCIS error they shouldnt make you have to resubmit and wait. However they can get your SR and review it and see it shows tracking delivered and when it says that they usually take the position that the card was received and you lost it and you need to refile and wait. Or maybe they review it in depth and see they mailed it wrong. So have they gotten back to you yet? If they say its your fault its lost you need to escalate it. If they say they are going to reissue it as it was their error it shouldnt take 6+months.

Obudsman is not really the best option. Your congressman is. And if they havent responded to the SR the congressman can help.

No they have not.

As of August 23, 2018, your request to have your Employment Authorization Document resent to you, referral number SR1XXXMSC, is currently not assigned for processing.

I have no connection to any P.O. Box and never had a P.O. Box in my life.

I have no idea why it was delivered to a wrong address. USPS was able to locate the P.O. Box it went to which is located inside their office. I sent a note to that box but no response to the contact # and email that I provided in the note.

The Tracking # itself reveals that it was delivered to the wrong address. The address came from Lee's Summit, MO which is correct as USCIS provided the USPS tracking #. It was shipped on 8/14 and arrived on 8/17.

I will do an Ombudsman DHS-7001 for now.

The ombudsman is not really the one to help you- and I believe the Obud currently has a significant wait for assistance. But if thats what you want to do go right ahead.

You need to contact your congressperson. Do you know how to do that? Is there a reason why you would be hesitant to do such? You can also go to infopass if its close to you and try to get them to send a SR or get an update on the SR you already submitted. Like I said someone has to actually go in and see the details of the error that occurred- because if they dont it may just end up with all the other person lost their card requests which goes in the general processing pile and will take many months to get.

My last DHS-7001 worked. I got a message saying USCIS was taking action but it was like couple weeks afterwards USCIS took action but hey what I have got to lose at this point by filling that form out?  I know how to contact the Congressperson. I am in Texas. I can do Infopass as well since it is very close.

We found that indeed the P.O Box it initially went to was my attorney's box but his staff never found the EAD in there. I was told by my lawyer that USCIS re-sent it and I was able to get it last Friday from him.
