Yes. I did a SR because the EAD went to the wrong address on 8/17/18. Mailed on 8/13/18.

2–3 weeks to resend EAD?

Yes...  my guess is 2-3 weeks for someone to read the service request and then 2-3 days to get the replacement in the mail.

But they might be faster with SRs now that they aren’t accepting as many for AOS (until 30 months, etc)

That’s pretty fast. Do you think it was a clerical error for USCIS to put a wrong address?

You will just have to wait another two weeks, I would think, before contacting them again. You have not waited for more than a week so far.

Back to USCIS from where? 2 online SR's? 60 days for resend of the EAD? At least you have an interview next month. My interview may not come until next year.

Dont you qualify for the auto 180 day extension? It can take a while to get the card resent. Do you need it for something?

It was approved on 8/8/18. I cannot apply for extension now. Well, I need it to apply for a new passport (not urgent) and a replacement social security card (not urgent).

I didnt realize this was for your initial card- sorry.

I found this thread online- It seems USCIS makes a distinction between you losing your EAD or it getting stolen and your EAD being not received (lost in mail) . It seems if they have a tracking number that shows it was delivered then its viewed as you lost it and you need to send a new application and wait (its currently taking 6-8 months to get it). IF they determine it was not delivered to you- then they will reissue it.

Your post said they will get back to you by 9/14. Have they?

Go to your congressman as the other thread suggests. You need USCIS to acknowledge the EAD was NOT delivered to you because of their error and expedite a replacement asap. Definitely congressman can help. . Go to ***removed*** .com /experience/184582-Metaliza-EAD-card-lost-in-mail-and-replacement.html. I cant post the direct link here- Ill try to message it to you- ah apparently you can still click the incomplete link.

USCIS did provide a USPS tracking # and it shows delivered to a wrong address so it is lost in mail.  New application for I-765 based on C9 Category? The I-765 was submitted with I-485 and I-485A. Do I just wait for the SR that I submitted to resend the EAD that was dated 8/23/18 and see what the decision is?  The reissue takes 6-8 months as well? 9/14 is correct for them to get back to me.

Should I fill out DHS-7001 Ombudsman?

Have they gotten back to you yet?

Where did this wrong address come from? It was just a totally random PO box they mailed to? You have no connection to this PO box, never used it on any forms or anything like that?

Yes- the other thread says to send a new 765 and yes you will have to wait 6-8 months.

If it was USCIS error they shouldnt make you have to resubmit and wait. However they can get your SR and review it and see it shows tracking delivered and when it says that they usually take the position that the card was received and you lost it and you need to refile and wait. Or maybe they review it in depth and see they mailed it wrong. So have they gotten back to you yet? If they say its your fault its lost you need to escalate it. If they say they are going to reissue it as it was their error it shouldnt take 6+months.

Obudsman is not really the best option. Your congressman is. And if they havent responded to the SR the congressman can help.
