Are you signed up for informed delivery?

Yes but I had to manually put the tracking # there. It shows a PO Box and a Zip code. USPS told me which PO Box it went to and there is nothing they can do.

Did you go to your local USPS station a few times? I find that (very politely) pestering them a bit, helps.

There was a package that we did not receive despite them claiming it arrived. The first time, the USPS person said it might just arrive in a few days, and she refused to check in the back or do anything at all but tell me it might still arrive.

The second time I asked them about it in person at the local USPS station, they actually checked in the back. They did not find it, but wrote down my tracking number and name and asked to come back in two days. The third time I showed up, they magically had my package for me. It was a small package, so I think in my case, the postal worker thought he had delivered the package (there were multiple ones that day), and then did not see it somewhere in his truck or something. It was never opened, but it was just a mistake.

So in your case, go to your local USPS office in person at a quiet time. Show them the tracking number, tell them it is SUPER important that someone else doesn't just throw it out, as it allows you to legally work.

I would also send a message to this PO Box, asking them to please check for an envelope in your name and to send it to your address or give it to the USPS worker. (PO Boxes are often right next to the post office). Perhaps add a stamp or two for them.

I went to USPS twice and the same guy was there. He checked the P.O. Box xxxx but wasn’t there. Second time he told me to contact the sender.

I can send a letter to that P.O Box with my name and contact # to call me but isn’t that a red flag because the renter of that will wonder how I got their address?

I can even send them $25 in the envelope.

I noticed that on my EAD card it says that if somebody finds the EAD card they should put it into any mailbox and then USPS is supposed to mail it back to USCIS in Lees Summit so maybe there's certain amount of time that needs to pass first so they can see it got returned?

This sounds like a service request. The last time we had a service request, it took 2-3 weeks.

we have some friends whose greencard was lost in the mail. They applied for a replacement several months ago and haven’t heard any news. But the EAD replacement is probably a different process than GC replacement, since the EAD is processed entirely in Lee’s Summit, MO

Yes. I did a SR because the EAD went to the wrong address on 8/17/18. Mailed on 8/13/18.

2–3 weeks to resend EAD?

On the envelope it says ''return service requested'' and there's Lees Summit address above but on the card itself it says what I wrote above...
