Sometimes. We recommend that you ask if you are approved. Everyone goes into AP (administrative processing) afterwards and your case is double checked before you get your visa issued.

 

Here is some additional information that you should be aware of while waiting. As was stated in the Canadian sub-forum there is an "emergency order" application in Ontario. You need the birth cert that is CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH REGISTRATION that has the parents name. You don't want the "parental cert" that is a wallet sized one with parents names but no place of birth, doctors who attended birth etc. The parental one is for parents travelling with kids to prove custody in an easy to use/travel with format. Hope this clears up your question. CALL the registrar and tell them you need to do an emergency application otherwise you will be waiting 15+ weeks. Absolutely the long form is a required LIVE document needed at the interview or you'll get rejected. I hope this info is helpful and best of luck.

Still waiting for my NOA2, estimates show it should arrive this week. I am in the airport right now, waiting for my flight to Philippines, it's been a long 7 months since I have seen my fiance and our daughter. I'm hoping to come back to that NOA2 in my mailbox when I return in a few weeks. I'm happy to see so many approvals, and all of the awesome help everyone is providing.

Has anyone got an approval yet? My application was sent on 8/29 and overnighted and received on 8/30. I received the actual NOA1 on 9-5-18. My fiancé and I just saw each other for two weeks over the holidays. We went 5 months without seeing each other. It was so hard to say goodbye

If you mean specifically today then no. California service center doesn't open for 15 more minutes.

So I’m getting this today, I saw it via informed delivery, none of the websites or app have changed, no notifications anywhere my NOA1 was 8-20-18

Well, it could be either an approval or RFE. Someone else can verify which. The envelopes a different depending on which it is. I believe Shiran knows.
