For those that get NOA2 approved, and signed up for notifications.  Did you get an notification email and/or text message?

We filed aug 29/18 got WAC number Sept 4/18. I've tried creating an account but it says it cant sync my file. I was checking for updates the old way until today when I found this site. We are getting anxious. My fiance is in the states waiting patiently for me to come from Canada.  Any suggestions how to get it to work? Thanks in advance

Sync file where? Create account where? For VisaJourney timeline it is here https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=320087 but you have to manually update it, it is not automatically updated. You have no reason to be anxious, USCIS is not working today, and most people from September are not processed yet. Give it another month.

You're talking about the USCIS website right? well, for one there is two of them, they both require separate accounts. Honestly, they are unreliable and you'll have your noa2 soon anyway, I wouldn't worry about them. Just check manually or through an app until you get it. After noa2 the sites aren't worth anything anyway because USCIS steps out of the picture.

This is what I keep getting.  Should I wait till tomorrow?  We are anxious because being apart is difficult.  I know it will be well worth the wait.

Yes.  Isn't that the site to check the status.  I just keep seeing my case was received.   Does it take long after the noa2?  I know I have to interview in montreal but that's all I know

Not sure about that. It is possible that some parts of their website are being affected due to shutdown that is in effect but as JMEngland and others said, websites are not reliable so don't panic over it. You are very close to this part being over. Do fill out your VisaJourney profile as it will give you some estimates.

figure a few weeks after noa2 before your packet gets to the Embassy, then you can schedule. how long after that before interview will depend on embassy. some you can get an appointment the following week, some it's two months later. just depends on how busy the embassy is. but yes, that's the old site, which tends to be the less reliable one, though both are unreliable in general.

No problem, anything else just ask. I'm glad you found us. After being on here for a while, I don't know how anyone goes through this process without being a member here. Even if it's just for some reassurance here and there, this community is great.

I cant believe I only found it today but glad I did.  Is the approval different for different countries etc?

Not really. The approval is different for each person. If you have a unique name, no crime history, and your beneficiary is from a non fraud country your background check would come back quicker and you would get your NOA2 a little faster.

Your petition is is stacked at USCIS not by country I believe, but by the month you filed.. so they go in order of the months.   But not in date order :)

The approval is based on background checks and some countries are different only because they require a little deeper scanning. Canada is not a problem and is usually approved without to much of a delay. The big part is that right now the embassy in Canada is running way into March for interviews.

Is approval granted right at interview.
