I would disagree.  I don't think the USCIS is vague.  I think people simply read more into the questions and  evidence requirements than what should be.

YMMV

i just realized I may have made a fatal mistake in filing the paperwork for the k1 visa... I included screenshots of me and my fiance calling each other "hubby" and "wifey". Not very often but during some of our whatsapp conversations. I  was reading that USCIS could flat out deny the petition because of it implying that we are already married.... when in fact we just use those as nicknames for endearment. Anyone else have insight into this issue?

That very well could be problematic. Could go either way.

Yeah i just dont know what to think lol the USCIS is always vague on whats acceptable and not. In the whatsapp convos i submitted, my fiance and I are also talking about what ring she likes and engagement ideas. I didnt include any engagement photos or photos resembling any type of wedding or event. So I hardly suspect anything. Im sure this helps my case? We only mention "hubby" and "wifey" a few times throughout all of our whatsapp convos. I also heard that if someone submits the visa petition before September 11,2018 that USCIS will still be issuing RFE's rather than straight denials. Idk if this also helps?

Well what you heard is wrong. That pertains to those who submit an application that is vague and doesn't contain many of the requirements and the adjudicating agent draws the conclusion that this person is only trying to "hold" their place in line until such time as they can get the missing documents submitted or they do not qualify for the visa that their application has been submitted for. [Here is where you may be denied]

Also do u think they would send an RFE or denial? Im confused between the two

RFE is for information that is missing for a bonified application. A denial is for the examples that I gave above and more.

I was stalking the july filers page. Today a July 25/30 got approved. So, with 3 business days left in the year, who knows! Unless the 31st is declared like this past Monday 🤷🏾‍♀️

i think we (August filers) should start to hear back right after the new year, or maybe near the end of January, depending on how much of a backlog they have..

I don't know about you guys, but i am legit nervous now. I don't know what to expect or whether it will be as smooth as other people seem to have it. I can't ever tell her that though because she is a bundle of nerves too

RoC sent 10/30/21

NOA 11/16/21

Check Cashed 11/18/21

Biometrics Waived 01/19/2022

I know how you feel.  I look on VisaJourney at least 5-10 times a day to see if there are any August approvals and I'm checking the USCIS website around 3-5 times a day to see if the update has changed, lol

AOS Timeline (I-485, I-765, I-131)

12/28/2019:  Packages sent to USCIS via Fedex

12/30/2019:  USCIS received packages

1/08/2020:  NOA for all 3 applications

1/17/2020:  Received biometrics appt letter for the I-485 and I-765 (Code 3).

1/31/2020:  Biometrics completed

2/20/2020:  RFE

6/15/2020:  Case is Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview

6/15/2020:  I-765 (New Card is Being Produced)

6/30/2020:  Received Combo Card in the Mail

Hello August Filers!

I just wanted to drop in to wish you all the best of luck on your journeys. We filed our petition in February and just received our NOA2 approval notice today.

The road ahead may look overwhelming and daunting, but it does have a wonderful ending waiting for you. You just need patience and perseverance. Trust the system and don’t unnecessarily worry or stress.  Stay as closely connected to your loved one as you can. If you can visit, visit! If you can’t, then do the best you can: Talk, Skype, email, write actual pen-to-paper letters and cards to each other, send flowers...you get the idea.

It’s all so incredibly worth it!

Godspeed and good luck to you all

this is beautiful !

Yes, I feel like January and February will be our months. Unfortunately it seems USCIS became rather sloppy recently in updating both "old" and "new" online websites, and subsequently trackers seem to be limited use. So it will be extra week or more before we get paper copies. Look at July threads, folks are mentioning just now getting copies that were approved in early to mid December. Just makes the wait that more aggravating.

And since I know some folks tend to lurk.

"Old" site: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do (no sign up needed, used by tracker Apps)

"New" site: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov (Need account with 2 factor authentication)

Here is another way to know what movement is being taken with those around you from your country.

Use the tools here in VJ to answer "when I am going to get etc. etc." question. Near your picture there is a link for your timeline. Select it and once you're on the next page near your picture  you will see "follow similar timelines" and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement for when others are getting the same notice of approval or action.  Try it. It really works!

I followed those that were in my group to give me an idea where they were in processing so I could judge if I was ahead or behind.  It's pretty accurate, maybe within a day or so.

If you choose to follow those twelve members then you will get an email every time their status updates.

Talking about being nervous, I can't even think straight anymore.  My NOA1 is 8/2.  God only knows what could happen.  The mere thought of maybe I made a mistake on my packet or maybe I forgot something is making me crazy.  I am hoping the best for all of us on this journey.
