I believe one August filer was approved but I think it was an expedite. Late July filers are being approved so we should start getting our NOA 2 soon ! :)

I believe January will be a lucky month for hopefully all of us waiting 🙏🏻

Yes, unfortunately we are unlikely to see anymore approvals at least until Wednesday when USCIS will resume work after holidays. Hopefully at that time the standoff about funding will be over too, though it should not directly affect USCIS operations.

Hello my friends at VJ.  I know this has probably been asked several times.  I was just wondering, do you think our estimated timelines are a good indication as to when we can expect to hear something from USCIS?

Have a wonderful & safe holiday season!

It is a very hopeful guesstimate.  It is all.

Thanks.  I guess, I may as well be patient & play the waiting game.

I can confirm what others have told you that the timeline here on VJ is only a raw guesstimate as it is based on information that is provided by other members. If they do not enter their information or enter the wrong dates then your timeline can be off. The timeline feature is only a "ball park" guide.

There are other tools here on VJ to use. Go to the December NOA2 - NVC thread, first page, and review #'s 4 & 5. Next follow the processing times that USCIS posts on their website. Between all these "tools" you can find an approximate time but that is contingent on if your case and country are of the "vanilla" variety.

I hope this helps you along the way.

@AGF

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

i just realized I may have made a fatal mistake in filing the paperwork for the k1 visa... I included screenshots of me and my fiance calling each other "hubby" and "wifey". Not very often but during some of our whatsapp conversations. I  was reading that USCIS could flat out deny the petition because of it implying that we are already married.... when in fact we just use those as nicknames for endearment. Anyone else have insight into this issue?

Eh don't panic, and wait for the answer from USCIS. I strongly suspect they are not really going to care but, assuming you do get approved by USCIS, do not present those  during embassy interview.

Yeah i just dont know what to think lol the USCIS is always vague on whats acceptable and not. In the whatsapp convos i submitted, my fiance and I are also talking about what ring she likes and engagement ideas. I didnt include any engagement photos or photos resembling any type of wedding or event. So I hardly suspect anything. Im sure this helps my case? We only mention "hubby" and "wifey" a few times throughout all of our whatsapp convos. I also heard that if someone submits the visa petition before September 11,2018 that USCIS will still be issuing RFE's rather than straight denials. Idk if this also helps?

Also do u think they would send an RFE or denial? Im confused between the two

There is no point  speculating. They cannot really send RFE for "prove you are not  married to each other" but I also strongly suspect those won't be an issue to  USCIS. You might get RFE for other reason, many people do, missed checkbox here or  there etc. Just keep waiting for now, we should getting August approvals any day now,  once USCIS returns to work.
