Hi everyone.  I'm new to this group.  My  I-129F form was received on August 3, 2018.  My notice date was August 8, 2018.  My fiance lives in Nigeria.  We are so ready to be in the same place.  I have always lurked on this website (even before I created a profile) but never posted before now.   Since mid-to-late July filers are starting to hear, I decided now was the time time post and hopefully celebrate good news with everyone else.  I hope that the holidays do not slow things down too much.  My fiance and I hope to have a wedding in NC in late July.  Do you all think that will be possible?  I will be praying for all of us.  The waiting has been hard but we are getting super duper close...

Welcome to the Group.  I live in NC also.  My fiancé is Nigerian who lives in The Gambia.  Our NOA1 is 8/2/2018.  Hope things will go fast for all of us 😄

Welcome. We are glad you are hear. Maybe you missed this while lurking but if you could finish your profile we could assist you more.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

He is complaining about your profile, not timeline, which is different. Profile is what show a visible country flag when you post. Since I mostly use desktop I can see timelines easy enough, but it might be an issue for people on mobile. Profile basically just shows the country more prominently.

My post is about your Embassy not your timeline. If you choose to follow my request we can help you but if you decide not to that's your choice but I can't and will not render any help because I depend on your profile to be complete. I'm not here to spout misinformation because ever Embassy is different with different procedures. What works for Germany does not work for the Philippines.

I actually live in PA but I am from NC so that is where our wedding will be.  We have been told that we can't do the medical exam or background check until we hear from the initial application.  I wanted to do those now so that he could get the first embassy appointment available.  Did you also hear this?

It is my understanding that you do have to wait to do the medical exam.  You have to get your approval from USCIS first, the NOA2.  After that it goes to NVC.  Nigeria has specifics on how you should proceed for their Embassy.  There is a lot of good information on their forum also.  The police report is good for 1 year.

We have some very knowledgeable people here on this VJ forum, who can provide you with more information.  I hope this helps a little bit.

Scheduling the interview can take 1 to 3 months. Once you pay the $265 visa fee at GTB Bank, you can go online to schedule an appointment at www.ustraveldocs.com You can get the forms online at http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html No need to go to the consulate to pick up forms. Download forms if unexpired or get current versions of same forms. Email LagosIV@state.gov for your interview date.

Hello fellow August 2018 filers.. How are you guys?

anyone received their NOA2 ?

best of luck to all of us ☺️

I believe one August filer was approved but I think it was an expedite. Late July filers are being approved so we should start getting our NOA 2 soon ! :)
