To everyone who had RFE - did the status change after you sent USCIS what they were asking? My fiance paid for tracking and USPS says USCIS got our letter. Wondering if the status on USCIS site will change from "we sent you a request for additional evidence"?

Mine didn't and still hasnt and it's at NVC now.

For us it was handwritten dates on photos and letters from friends who know our relationship.

Really? If that is what they want from me......very easy.

It SHOULD change, much in the same way my USCIS status should not be "Received" either. Will it? Who the heck knows! One thing for sure, as long as you guys do not move, paper NOA2 is the only thing that seem to have reliability. Give it 2 weeks, then call USCIS to verify they received response if you don't get NOA2 by then.

Great news.  Good luck.

Here on VJ they have created a spreadsheet where couples have added their RFE information and it makes for a good primer while you are waiting for your RFE.

Here is the link to the RFE thread:

Here is the link to the actual document in google docs:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QZLEE9OecLgkFXzE_ChRWqPGW4breSStBXafL2zbGhA/edit#gid=2061710905

The original is the copy you receive in the mail. Read it carefully and answer with what they are asking for. You don't have to do anymore then what is outlined within the RFE. Sign the RFE and make copies of everything you'll put in the return envelope. These copies will remain yours. Seal the envelope and return to the address that is specified in the RFE. Be sure to send it back so that you can trace it. Be sure your response is returned in the allotted time contained within the RFE.

how do you know when it got shipped?

Once you get your number from NVC you can go to CEAC and check status

https://ceac.state.gov/ceac

Make sure to click on check my status,

Then where it says non immigrant visa click on the drop down menu click immigrant visa, then you enter your case number and it will tell you
