She is now on her 3rd and last flight from JFK seated next to a lady with a small dog in her lap. PoE at JFK was pretty unremarkable according to what she told me. They took her Visa packet, and stamped her passport. We were able to pull her I-94 record soon after. She had her first Starbucks purchase at JFK as well. Tea of some kind (and it was disappointment :( ) Thus ends this part of the journey for us, and beginning of the rest of it together.

OMG congratulations!!!!! This is the moment we are all waiting for. Cherish every second!

I would not count on getting good answer from them. When it comes to divorce documents, they seem to look for something very specific, like "final" decree which is not same as divorce certificate etc. Not saying that is what you sent, but I've seen people get tripped out by it, especially if its beneficiary's document.

Hopefully you will be able to get it sorted soon!

I got to an agent and she said they needed an official document and not just a copy. So I’m at my county clerk’s office getting an official judgment showing finality. My attorney said he would check it over Monday and make sure it looked good and then overnight it. The agent said my approval would be quick as long as I sent in what they needed

Decree Absolute with a judges signature is the requirement. You need to fill in a form, D180 which is available online to print and send it completed along with your decree absolute to Bury St Edmunds, the divorce court. I actually called the courts and explained my situation. They were most helpful in explaining what I needed to do. Signed certificate will be back within 3 weeks.

Ask London specific questions in the UK forum and you won't get answers from another country who may have different procedures at the embassy stage. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/  Just saying.

:oops:Sorry. I made the assumption that you were trying to do this for UK paperwork. And since I had read this topic from a post awhile back I wanted to share it with those that could use it as there is a cloud of uncertainty concerning the divorce decree for the UK interview. Carry on. :D

She arrived fine last night, with only minor hiccup being damaged hard shell luggage. She had her first ever (sorta) Mexican meal at Chipotle -- her choice. Initial intent was taco, but she got seduced by burrito instead. The sales lady took delight in going through all the options and letting her try things.  Thank you everyone for well wishes.

Next big step is SSN on Monday.

That's so exciting. I bet it was such a cool day for her, even though it's just doing things that anyone here would just consider a "normal thing". I think that's what excites me the most about Kris getting here. Just going to Walmart is going to be a huge life experience for her. Just the sheer size is impressive. They just don't really have anything comparable there. After living in Ukraine, i definitely noted that everything there is very small compared to the States. Grocery stores are, for the most part, about a quarter of the size of the typical grocery store here (and definitely not usually up to American health standards...).  Everyday is going to be a whole new experience, regardless of what we're doing.

Do be prepared to some disappointments. E.g. "Are streets always so empty?" And "Tomatoes taste absolutely terrible and are not even the same fruit" Also American Coca Cola is not nearly as good as the one made in Kyiv.
