I just noticed that you posted the link to the new site to track the case status. It's weird but when I put my case number in I get this message:

"We cannot find a case that matches the receipt number that you provided. You should check to make sure you correctly entered the number. If your receipt number is correct, this tool may not support online tracking for your case. You can also try using the existing Case Status Online tool to check your case status."

But on the old one, my case number works just fine..is the same thing happening to you ??

No both sites show similar info for me, but dates are different.

I wouldn't worry about it, it seems like with all things government they are having computer and system issues, and if you look at other threads people are talking all the time about cases not getting updated, or getting updated on one site, but not the other.

Keep checking both, and keep an eye out for the paper document.  In one of my previous posts I linked what both websites say for my case.

Was I supposed to make a copy for my fiance? I didn't create second copies of anything!!!

I mean, the passports, pictures, and proof of relationship I can do. But all the boarding passes I sent original copies 😕

The boarding passes prove that you and them met in person in last 2 years, that is all. Once your petition gets approved, and it is in K-1 visa and in person interview stage your fiance will need to in-person prove you still have bona fide relationship. I, personally, do not see how boarding passes will be helpful in that case. You do need to send (digitally is fine) completed copy of 129F to your fiance. Are you planning on being present for the interview? If you are, I think it will be a lot more convincing of your bona fides than some old boarding passes. Prepare some records from your chats etc to bring to Interview as well, new pictures, etc.

If your case isn't lost then you are ok with originals. But in the future copies are fine except where specified from the governing entity (USCIS, NVC or your Embassy).

If it was cashed out, you should be getting text/e-mail soon, and in about a week you should get I-797C (Receipt) in the mail (what people here call NOA1)

Just received the text/email. It says "On August 31,2018 we recieved your form I129F....."

Does that mean my NOA1 will have date of 8/31/2018?

Now that you have your case number, create an account at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ and track your case there. If doesn't show up, don't panic, they seem to be slow with updating their system. Usually the date that shows up there is your NOA1 date. It might be something like Sept 5. Which would be date when they mailed out your paper NOA1.

You can also check https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do This is what people here refer to as "old" site. On that site the date probably will be August 31, which is date when they received your petition (not when NOA1 notice was actually sent)

Don't panic if one or both sites are not updated yet, they seem to be having all sorts of computer related issues.

Hi everyone.  Each time I check my timeline, the date changes a little bit.  Can anyone please tell me why it keeps changing?  Is this normal?  Thanks.

It's normal, and will keep happening.

It's based on other people updating their timelines. And less than 10% of K-1 couples have timelines at VJ at all. So if there's a cluster of people that get approved faster than average, then everyone's projected NOA2 date moves up. If there's a cluster that gets approved slower than average, everyone's timeline moves back. So it will move back and forth over time, possibly more in one direction than another if there's a general trend of petition processing getting faster or slower.

Thanks DaveAndAnastasia.  You always come to my rescue to help.  Now I understand.  I was concerned because it appears that our timeline gets longer & longer.
