It's very difficult for all of us, especially when your loved one is in a country where the communication is limited.  It takes a lot of patience.  My fiancé is in a country where one day we might be able to video or audio chat or text each other & some days there is no reception at all.  Just like they lose electricity on a regular basis.  I get stressed out, but I try not to let him feel it when we are talking because he would only worry about me.  Days I cannot communicate with him, I get involved in art/craft projects.  We have our NOA2 & waiting for a case #.  Pretty soon he has to face a difficult embassy to deal with.  That is more stress.  I would advise to simply take advantage of the little time you may have when you connect online or via chats.  At the end of all this, we can all laugh about it & thank God for sending a wonderful partner to us.  I am so sorry about the RFE.  Sending hugs your way.

Im so glad to read this because the same thing happens with my guy. The electricity goes out or he does not have enough internet to video chat. He does not have money to buy the best phone and we speak different languages...im happy everyone else gets alot of facetime and special time...but its not like that for every1 and it makes the process more stressful.😥

Guys, how do you all deal with distance?😭 I've seen my fiance 8 months ago😭 and sometimes we can't even hangout, because some calling apps and Facebook got blocked in my country and sometimes even VPN apps don't help😭 plus this time difference..and now the RFE makes the waiting time longer..

my fiancee and I use Viber. its free, we have it on our phones to message each other all the time while we are at work, and we have it on our computers at home for video chats. for messages and texts on the phone, it also has a little translator within the app itself, and you can also use it to make calls, again free. this way we can video chat for hours or talk to each other on the phone for however long we want.

the only downside is it drains your phone very fast. small price to pay to communicate at any time

RoC sent 10/30/21

NOA 11/16/21

Check Cashed 11/18/21

Biometrics Waived 01/19/2022

Lucky!!!!!

Can't even dream about that..it's very expensive for me to fly somewhere, and I need visa for most of the countries) our passport is very weak) and my fiancé can't come to my country because of his job restrictions..

Last time me and my fiancé met was May 2017... Guess how we handle? WE DON'T! 😫 Where are you from? Russia? I'm from Kazakhstan and we can't see each other often cause of the same reasons as yours. Most of people here are from countries that let them travel abroad with no visas, lucky! I wish you all the best, girl, hang in there!

THank you all for your stories and words of support!!!

Sometimes it's very difficult to be patient and stay positive. It's not our first time being apart for so long..that's why sometimes I feel like I'm ready to give up because I get the thought that we are going to wait forever and fear of leaving my country, family and stable life only makes it worse ..But reading all your stories gave me more hope and recharged me with patience, seeing that so many people are dealing with same problem even if in different ways..

I wish everybody smooth further process and to meet your beloved ones very soon🍀

Have you tried Telegram? It's what we have been using. That and Discord. http://discordapp.com  Or is it blocked as well? I am surprised and yet not surprised that Uzbekistan even after Karimov is so locked down. Any word yet on what your RFE is? It helps to set up a certain routine, like messaging each other every morning, and before bed, even if they are asleep due to time difference the message would always wait for them there.

Would you like to have somebody to talk to, while you wait for your interview? There aren't any other girls from Kz on these kind of forums, and it would be great to keep in touch with somebody in the same situation if not from Kz, then Uz 😁 hit me up if you'd like to!

Ya we both think we've suffered enough, now we're impatiently waiting for NOA2, every single day makes us nervous! We got our NOA1 Aug 9 and still no news...

Telegram isn't blocked but reception is so bad that it's impossible to have even 2-3 minute conversation without yelling at each other😂

Every day is a quest trying to find out which app is working better today)

Things are getting better with our new President, but somehow facebook and even Youtube got blocked last September and even some vpn apps we were using. I don't remember last time I used Skype. WhatsApp, viber aren't an option either..so fb messenger or IMO are best solutions for calls if reception isn't bad and vpn is working
