K-1 Visa Approved, Waiting for Passport/Visa Delivery

Hi, our visa application for my Dominican fiance and children was approved July 26th. As of 8/10/17 the status update for our case available on ustraveldocs.com is: "Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery"  Is this length of time (3 weeks) between visa approval and delivery unusual? Is 7 days in the "being processed for delivery" status unusual?  When I call the embassy in Santo Domingo, I am referred to the visa service, which only refers me to the status available online.  Thank you.

Your situation seems very specific to the SD consulate. Most people here likely won't be able to answer. 

 

But to answer your question, the visa preparation could take some time, yes. Have you checked what is the CEAC status if is on AP? What about the place where you're going to pick it up, have you asked them?
