Timeline

Hello,I sent my package civil documents and financial documents to NVC a week ago but still they did not answer me if my case completed,how I will know?

The average NVC processing time for Cr-1/IR-1 visas is about 116 days according to other VJ members.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Depends if it's pivot or non pivot case. If non pivot you need to call Nvc and ask them when they received your file and when is scan date ( when they put your documents into system) . From scan date both pivot and non pivot it taking upto 3 weeks to case complete. Than it can take another 2 weeks to confirm you thou email. So best thing is call them.

They'll send you an email when it's completed. The email will stated that they've accepted everything and they are in communication with your local consulate and that they will send you your interview letter once it's scheduled.

  • Send AOS Package: 2018-05-23
  • Send IV Package: 2018-07-19
  • Case Completed at NVC: 2018-07-26
  • Interview Date: 2018-10-31 (approved!)
  • Visa in hand: 2018-11-05

Also don't forget if they find any mistakes in any papers or if they need anything than they will send you checklist. Which might delay process. Normally they send checklist within 2 weeks of received everything.
