Hi, I just received two messages from NVC on my dad's case. The first message says "all required applicant documents have been received and approved" and the case is documentarily qualified. The next message titled "Police Certificate" says "The police certificate required for Russia is not needed in order for the interview to be scheduled. However, the police certificate must be obtained and submitted before the visa interview." I had submitted the police certificate and it is marked as accepted in the list of civil documents I submitted on the CEAC website. I submitted a similar police certificate for my mom's case and did not receive any message other than documentarily qualified.

I am confused if I need to submit any other police certificate for my dad's case. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

If you did not submitted your dad's police certificate on your NVC package; Your dad will need to have the original and a copy the day of the interview.  If you  submitted one, maybe the reason has to do with the date.

The certificate from your current country of residence must be of recent date (not older than 12 months) when presented to the consular officer at the interview.  So make sure when you guys get the interview date that your police certificates are current.

Your father needs to get a new police report and take it to the interview......
