Like I said it's a matter of pick and chose your exploitation. If people gave as much thought to everything as they do one thing the hear in the news, they'd be chewing their cud in the fields with the coos. No toothpaste, no soap, no makeup, no hand bags or shoes, etc etc.

I think its more about where you draw the line. Everyone draws the line somewhere, and its usually "anything goes". Its impossible to completely rid yourself of any animal killing in this day and age, so you make a level for yourself as to what is acceptable and what isn't. For some that's going to mean they use toothpaste, but don't eat cheese with rennet. Some others try to use nothing at all. Its all a personal choose really.

I'm not a vegetarian myself, but know many and this is how they tend to think. "You're going to kill an animal anyway so why bother?" is a specious argument.

I am not saying it isn't personal choice, I'm not saying it isn't where each individual draws the line, I'm saying It's amazingly hypocritical on many levels. I suppose though, it's whatever helps one sleep better at night in the end.

Hypocritical = pretending to be what you're not.

In this context, pretending to care about rennet in a chocolate bar, while

turning a blind eye to rennet in cheese, as well as ignoring a myriad of other

products and companies that use animal ingredients.

That's a risk you take when you use shower gel. I have sensitive skin, so I use vegetable soap. They make it 30 miles from here and it isn't tested on anything, since everybody already knows what happens when you use vegetable soap: you get clean.

Boots manage to make entire ranges of products not tested on animals and I've not heard of huge outbreaks of rashes amongst the British public.
