I agree that you can put N/A into any blank boxes. I put them for every single thing that did not apply to us. I did not receive an RFE or have any problems in writing N/A to the many many boxes that did not apply to me - but someone else I know left many boxes blank (didn't write N/A) and got an RFE stating her petition had not been filled out all the way. She wrote N/A in the blank boxes, sent it back and was approved a couple weeks later.

How is the beneficiary related to you? I know your scenarios may only be scenarios but scenario 1 can't be 0 if in scenario 2 you say they have a spouse....

Thank you! What you said makes a lot of sense. I have 3 beneficiaries, my spouse and her two children (i.e. , my step children). The kids obviously are unmarried.

Since you asked, I have a question that perhaps you may be able to help with... "Have you ever previously filed a petition for this beneficiary or any other alien"  -- this is the first time I am filing an I-130 for anyone ever, and since I am mailing in all 3 petitions simultaneously, would the answer for this be NO?

So in your scenario 1 - how many times has the beneficiary been married - if one of the beneficiaries is your spouse, you would write 1 and write in your name as the spouse.

I looked at the question you mentioned - I would probably write no for it. If you wanted to be thorough, on page 12 when it asks for extra information/clarification, you could write that number and down and write "concurrent filing for step-son" or "concurrent filing for spouse" etc.

Yup for my spouse actually its her second marriage (my step-children  - her childre - were born from her first marriage) so I will put 2 there.

Regarding the question mentioned, makes sense to add the notes as well. NO is the consistent advice I have got regarding the response to that question.

Thank you so much!!

I am a US citizen filling out the I 130 for my wife.

1) I don't have any other names used. does it make sense to leave this section blank, or is it better to put N/A in first name, last name and middle name fields?

2) Day time telephone number for beneficiary - My wife is in India, can I put her Indian number with country code eg: +9112345678 ?

1. If she changed her maiden name to her married name, then you should write her maiden name are previous names used. Same thing we did.

2. Yes. Her phone number is her daytime nunber since she's the beneficiary

1. Yes, I was referring to petitioner's (mine) other names used.. I have no other names, so I am planning on putting N/A there.

Thank you!!

The question is applicable, so the correct answer is "NONE".  Just put it in the first available field and leave it at that.

Only concern is that USCIS seems to at times think that NONE is a real name based on the experience of other people. Isn't it safer to just put N/A ?

Rather than put NONE and risk USCIS entering it as a name, can I just draw a line across the field like so ---------------- or alternately leave it blank OR write NO OTHER NAMES USED?

NO.  N/A means not applicable.  The question is applicable and the answer is NONE.  If you want belt and suspenders, enter No Other Names.

1) My wife has me (spouse) and 2 children. There is no "Person 4" and "Person 5" as mentioned in the form. Should I

a) Leave "Person 4" and "Person 5" items blank, b) put N/A or c) put None.. what has everyone else done?

2) Wife doesn't have an ARC number / USCIS online number / Social Security No  Ok if I write NONE in these number fields?

1) Those are just spaces IF they apply to you. Most people are like families of 4 so yea.
Since she only has 2 children, leave persons 4 and 5 blank. and just fill in 1-3.
2) If she doesn't have them, she doesn't have them. I don't recall off the top of my head what the form you refer to look like but I think if it doesn't apply, you do "N/A."

I believe the instructions say "None" for "0" items and "N/A" for something not applicable to you.

Do ARC number , USCIS Online Number, Social Sec number apply to my wife who is the beneficiary and an Indian citizen? In other words should I be using NONE or N/A for these fields?
