Hey everyone,

I haven't seen my fiance since july 2016. We got our noa1 june 15th 2018. (We filed within the two year time frame)

Will it affect our case, that we haven't seen each other for 2 years ?

We just wanted to save up money as much as we can for all other steps , and a flight is super expensive ...

What do you think. Should i visit him again before interview or will we be good ??

We also thought about that he could come with me to the interview..

I would be planning another visit just to see him. I've seen others here go a while without visiting but it looks better if you keep closer.

More of your personal choice. Obviously as others said visiting is good; but for the embassy in Germany I don't think they will go to hard on you for now seeing each other recently. We went for 17 months about without seeing eachother...

For some countries that can be a big flag; but again for the embassy there, probably not; but if you can visit and/or he make it for the interview that of course would always be beneficial.

Time spent together is really important when the US evaluates a relationship for an immigration application.  I don't think anyone can assure you that you are good with not seeing each other for over 2 years - we simply can't do that.  We can tell you that your application would be better if you could visit with each other before the interview.

Please be aware that some US embassies do not let the petitioner to enter.  Check to see if your US Embassy will allow him to enter to attend the interview with you.

If you could be there for the interview that would be very beneficial. I was able to attend my then fiancé’s interview in Switzerland. We had to request permission prior to the interview.

If it were me, I would try to visit, or have my husband visit me. We were only apart for a year during our visa process, and that was hard enough - I can't imagine how tough it is on you two, being two years :(. Visiting one another can be a great way to break up the monotony of waiting. It's a good refresher during the frustration of this process, and can sort of revive your spirits. But as others said - not visiting again won't necessarily effect your case, I don't think. As long as you have everything else, and enough supporting info otherwise, you will be fine.

As for him coming with you to the interview - some embassies don't let the petitioner in at all, and some require prior notice/request in order for the petitioner to come inside. My husband's interview was in Sweden and I was able to visit at the time of his interview and went with him to the embassy. I was able to wait outside in line with him, but could not go inside and had to wait on him at our hotel. I got the impression from what the officer said that there was some kind of list we could have called ahead of time and added me on, but we hadn't been aware of that. So check with your local embassy first. Even if he's able to be there with you in the same country, and not necessarily go inside the building with you, can still be a huge help. I have no regrets going at the time I did, and being there when he was done to see him in person to get the news instead of waiting for him to call me was worth it.

Håll ut, y'all.

I tend to agree with Debbie, I would want to meet again if only for the reassurance of our relationship. It's not unrealistic to expect a few more months from now until Visa issuance, that puts you at almost 2.5 years, a long time to be apart, a long time to maintain your sanity, it may also make the transition to marriage simpler, not being with a person you have not seen in so long.
