Hi

My fiance had his interview on july 30, and everything was fine.

We had submitted the i 134 but they wanted i 864 along with joint sponsor. So er submitted documents on August 13. How long did it take before your date updated? Or the status changed?

And how many of you have been issued visa since then?

I thought that i-134 is required for K-1 visa. You don't need i-1864 until you file for AOS in the US...

I thought the same thing but rules are different for the embassy in pakistan. We had a straightforward case. But CO issued us a 221 g requesting i864. Also I sent tax copies but they wanted tax transcripts

As far as I know, the police certificate is not a requirement by the US Embassy in Islamabad.

It's required or you will be issued a 221g

No it's not required.  Please read the NVC reciprocity table.

Trust me it might say that but it's required. I guarantee you, if you go in without it they will issue you a 221 g.  You can take that risk. Police certificate is easy to get. I would highly advice against taking any risks at the moment. Things are tougher now days.

I think you are right. Although it is not needed, it would be safe to have it with you to avoid any delays.

I read in this thread that they asked for i-864 for K1 instead of accepting i-134.

Yup that's correct. My fiance was issued a 221g for submitting i 134... they wanted i864...i spoke to a lawyer too..she said pakistan has different rules despite what it may say on the website. Just be cautious. I also know couples who were asked to provide a police certificate and it just delayed everything
