I received my interview date of September 21st. So I called up to book a medical and they said the soonest appointment was September 20th. I asked if this would be okay and she said it was, but it wasn't very convincing. Can anyone confirm if this will be okay, as I have read that we have to take a sealed envelope from the medical, to our embassy interview.

I also don't want to find out at the interview that my decision will be 'conditional' depending on the results of my medical. Has anyone had this? Where they haven't had a decision due to medical not being sent to them yet?

Any help would be great, just to put my mind at ease. Thanks.

The results of your interview absolutely  will be conditional on the results of your medical......sorry.

So they won't give me an answer at the interview, I will have to wait until they send my passport back in the mail?

Satisfactory medical exam is a requirement for a visa to be issued.  Can your medical exam can be processed and sent to the consulate before your interview? Approval is never really known until you see that "issued" status on CEAC website.

I'm not sure how long it takes them to process the outcome of the medical. Hopefully the same day?

Does anybody know if they give you the all-clear and paperwork to prove it the same day as the medical?

You can search through the UK sub form and see what others have been experiencing. Most likely you aren't the only one that has experienced this delay in medical.

No they do not clear your paperwork the day of the medical. Your blood draw gets sent to a lab and has to come back. Lately it's about 2 weeks for your medical results to be in your file at the embassy. At the interview they will tell you approved pending medical if their are no other issues. They will not finish up your case the day the medical arrives so some extra days for them to get back to your case because everything was not in order on the day you interviewed (medical missing).

You will know it's a done deal when you check CEAC status and it says issued. That means the visa is printed and in your passport. You'll get it in hand about 3 days later.

This happened to my husband a few weeks ago. US Embassy in Cyprus re-scheduled my husband's interview, resulting in his medical appointment being only a few days before the rescheduled interview. He completed the medical, but obviously didn't have the bloodwork results at the time of his interview. He called the Embassy to inform them and was told to come for the interview anyway. He went forth with the interview and was told he passed the interview and everything would be fine, as long as he dropped off his passport and medical results at the embassy gate as soon as he got them.

After the interview, he was actually given a Refusal Worksheet which stated his visa was refused under Section 221-g (missing medical). Kind of shocking to see a refusal, even though we knew what was going on and why! On the CEAC website, his status was updated to 'Administrative Processing'. We weren't worried about it at all, it was clearly because of the missing bloodwork results, which was explained to us, along with the fact that they said everything will be fine once we sort out the missing docs. He returned to the embassy gate two days later and dropped off both his passport and the medical results. A day later, CEAC changed to 'ISSUED'. He picked up his passport with his visa a few days later. I think the Refusal Worksheet and AP was just standard practice if someone is missing something from their 'interview package'.

In London you will not deliver medical results nor return to the embassy after the interview. It is all done via DX courier service....medical sent over, passport/visa delivery after, and any other paperwork that might have been missing on interview day. Example: forgot to take your birth certificate. You arrange for DX to collect it from you along with your passport and take to the embassy. They will not take hand deliveries, nor in person visa pickup at the embassy. The visa can be home delivered for $30 or picked up free at your closest DX depot. Neither is faster than the other.

I had my interview on 10th August and the first medical appointment I could get was 24th August!!! So at my interview they said it’s approved pending my medical and all being well with my medical I will get my passport with my visa inside delivered to my house as quickly as they can. There’s no way you will get your visa without your medical but things could be worse you could have to wait 2 weeks for your medical after your interview 😊

They have kept my passport and I didn’t get a refusal 221g or anything in London the medical center send the info to the embassy who will print the visa and send my passport so all being well on Friday I shall be waiting for my passport with visa in the next few weeks 😆
