It has been suggested, that I might have my MNL number by the end of this week....based on timing of others.  (And yes I realize every case is different.)

However....that just doesn't seem possible based on my interactions with NVC...  So let me know if I am thinking right.

Received approval (I-797) on July 26th.

I call the NVC for MNL number about every other day.  Each time...they say...'We have not even received your file yet....might take 6 weeks' …. (And yes I know...they are trained to present the worst case scenario!) …. 'And once we (NVC) receives it...we might take a couple of weeks.'

So...as of today, NVC has no record of it..... Is there really a possibility I will have a MNL #....in a few days?

Thank you for your thoughts...and experience.

I also emailed them for the same information....(and they actually responded)…. and it also said....they had not yet received the file.

It's going to take a few more weeks to get the number. 2-3 weeks for USCIS to send the file to NVC after NOA2 notice. And then another 10-15 business days before NVC assigns the MNL#. Relax, you'll have the number shortly to begin scheduling things there in the Phil.

It has taken upwards of TWO months from receiving the NOA2 for some.    You are still a couple weeks away from the best case scenario.

The MNL # will arrive ... then things can moving blazing fast if you like   But for now .. relax ... patience.

I just sent some $$ via remitly.com to fiancé....and had it sent to BPI....same bank where she will pay her visa fee.... Any reason she should NOT pay her visa fee while there?  (considering she does not have MNL #.)

You can't pay the visa fee till you have the Case Number MNL. And you have to print off the MRV receipt in order to execute the transaction of paying the visa fee. Brakes need to be applied Doug or your going to crash and burn.  Just pay attention to what is on Hanks website. Take it one step at a time. Now Deep breath.

Previously....I asked if visa fee could be paid without MNL #....and here is Hank's response:

"No, BPI will not ask for the MNL#   They want the deposit slip printed from online, and PHP "

So which is it...hehhee.

Since I sent the money....to BPI... can she pay her visa fee...while she is there?  I am getting conflicting answers....to the question....Can she pay her visa fee without a MNL #.

The bank will not ask for the MNL# but they will ask for the deposit slip which is the MRV receipt that I mentioned in my earlier post.

Yes...we were going to have that printed out....

So you are saying.... She can pay her visa fee, while she is at the bank....and without a MNL number?

Yes you can pay the interview fee with BPI and without the MNL# but you must print off the MRV receipt from here http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-paymentinfo.asp#DepositSlips

Now, I would not recommend you pay your fee this early in the process without waiting for the MNL#,

You should wait and be patience, do not rush.

Rushing sometimes make everything worse and your case will be delayed.

NVC is very strict about the processing, if you jump and skip or miss any steps, they will let you wait for several months until they have time to review it and fix it for you.

Your case has just been approved July 26.

At least 2 Months later, NVC will send you a Case number letter.

However, you have to wait until you get the Welcome Letter, which mean your case is ready for processing.

Then you can fill in DS-261, paying some fees online or bank check.

If you paid before your case is ready for processed, NVC cannot recognise that fees and you have to call them several time until they fix it.

After they got your fees, they will open DS-260 for submitting online.

Then you can send your documents (not original) to NVC.

These mistakes belows will make your case delayed:

- Paying fee before your case is processed.

- Paying fee using not properly method.

- Filling DS-260 but forgot to click the button Submit.

- Sending documents to NVC in several times, which leads to missing documents, because NVC sometimes forget to update additional documents.

Or NVC can hold the documents until they think that you submit all the documents and do not send anymore.

Some situations which you cannot control:

- Your payment is completed but NVC shows NOT PAID.

- You have to wait several weeks (instead 1-2 weeks) for processing fees

- You submitted all necessary documents but NVC keep telling you that your documents are missing.

Hehe...part of the reason I got so excited was.... last time I asked about timing....I got these two replies from  folks that had just been through it... :

We did that too fiancee called but they dont have our case yet and it might take 7 weeks they said..My fiancee waited for two weeks and call again but receive the same answer ...2 days after i decided to email them..then after 5 days i received an email from them with our case number..thats a total of about 3 weeka from approval date which was May 23.. Just hang in there you might have it probably anytime next week.

For my timeline I received approval 7-3-2018, it arrived at NVC 2 weeks later on 7-17-2018, then case number was assigned on 7-19-2018, then it left NVC on 7-24-2018. So you should call for your case number on or around 8-13-2018. early next week you should have your case number, by next Friday I would think would be the for sure should have it date. It is all different for each case, but you should be seeing it really soon.

Can these possibly be correct?  If so....I have hope...hehehe.

My case arrived 3 weeks after approval, then took 3 weeks to get case number after that.

I dont think calling does anything. I called the day before I got the case number and they let on no indication that anything was happening and told me to wait 8 weeks. Case number came in email since it's pivot.

No reason she can't pay the fee, just follow the instructions from the link I gave you earlier,    Making sure to print out a deposit receipt, then afterward keep the receipt that BPI gives her ... make a copy of it for your records also.

After that you will need to be ... patient .... until you have received your MNL#

MNL# isn't required to pay the visa fee.   They can't recreate the profile or schedule the appt until they have their MNL#
