Hi everyone, 

I just joined this site. My fiancé and I have been together for 2 years and we got engaged in December 2017. He's from Ohio and currently living in Indiana now. I'm from Quebec, Canada. We finally sent out the I-129F form yesterday and I can't stop worrying about it. I'm so scared we did something wrong like filled out something wrong, missed a section or missed a form, or tried too hard with our evidence of how we met and pictures, etc. 

I know we have a long wait ahead of us now that the form has been sent out. 

 

Just wanted to know if anyone else out there felt really anxious too. It's so scary knowing this out of our control now. 

I'd love to hear any advice or success stories of those who have made it. Anything would help calm my nerves right now.

The immigration journey requires a great deal of planning, patience, and money.......and more patience.  Try to stay busy, and try to avoid all the "what ifs".......Visa Journey is a great place to spend some time during the process.  This is quite an educational and (sometimes) entertaining place......good luck...

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Take a deep breath and then carry on with your life! There's no use spending the next 7 months worrying about it - you did everything you could to send in the package with the right information and evidence, and if they need more from you they can send you a request for evidence. Visit each other if you can, tell jokes, make plans, remember to spend time with other friends and your family too, and the time will go by faster than you think. Good luck! 

p.s. I was VERY anxious when we were preparing the petition, but then managed to keep it at bay for the majority of the wait. We're waiting to book my interview now, and I'm still anxious but trying to stay rational!
