Hello anyone experience this please, passport expires in 8 months from the date of travel. Did you had any delay because of this matter?

8 months is no problem. Some countries require you to have 6 months or more to travel -but 8 months no problem. Additionally, you are immigrating to the US so as long as you have a valid passport you are fine. You will have to renew your passport through the embassy in the US when the time comes.

While would have suggested renewing it prior to getting the visa, as above, you shouldn't have issues but will need to renew it from the US side later on.

08/15/2014 : Met Online

06/30/2016 : I-129F Packet Sent

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married 

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

I had 2.5 months left on my passport when I visited (prior to getting green card) but my stay was only for 1 month. I had my return trip evidence to show the officers at the airport should they ask for it but I was not asked for proof of return. Your case is for fiance visa, which is different, so 8 months is fine.

it will more than likely be easier/faster to renew your passport where you are now. while you CAN wait and renew it stateside, personally, i would do it now.

 

but no, if you are traveling on k1 visa it wont be an issue if you are moving here and not just visiting at that point.

04/09/2019    NOA1 received/check cashed i 485 and 130 (direct adjustment)

11/7/2019      Interview- Norfolk

11/10/2019    APPROVED (notification rec'd 11/10, approval dated 11/8)

DONE FOR TWO YEARS!!! ;)

 

Filed everything ourselves with no RFE's or delays.

 

CR1 for Child under 21 (20 at time of filing)- Filed by LPR Spouse for his son

4/4/20     Mailed packet

4/12/20   NOA1 rec'd

10/14/21 (havent heard anything... when do i start to get worried?)

9/15/22 APPROVED! Now to wait for NVC and interview....
