Hi,

My wife I-130 is pending with USCIS.  I am waiting for an approval which is expected anytime soon. However, my question here is, does changing my employment (getting a new job) affected my spouse form coming to the US in anyway?  Should I stay at my current job till my wife get through since all the information about employment on the I-130 application I sent in is on my current job?

Thank you!

No really easy way to say gow this will be interpreted by the CO at the interview. There may be increased scrutiny of your I864 if you have only been in the job for a short time..  the CO will be looking for secure ongoing employment with income above the required threshold..

If you stay, you should do so until after your spouse is actually in the  US.

While I don't know for certain, I would suspect that as long as you still meet the financial requirements it would pass muster.

Having said that, I personally would choose to stay with the same employer if I could "wait it out" till my spouse was granted a visa.  Remember, you will probably need to get a letter from the new employer just as was the case with the previous one.

Certainly a stable job history helps in convincing the consular to say yes to the visa.
