Im getting my I-751 package ready to be sent out. I understood from googling that its not possible to use the G-1145 in combination with the I-751.

Because me and my wife travel around the country for a living i wont be at our mailing address to pick up the NOA1 to find out my case number to track the case status online. Is there a way for me to get text or email updates on this case once its been sent out? With my AOS i got a text within a few days that had my case number.

Tracking it by case number is pretty much useless. All it will show is you case received and then biometrics completed then everything falls into a black hole for many, many, many months. I've read that most of the time the status website isn't updated until approved, etc.

they've recently launched a new tracking site so maybe that one will be better, I wouldn't count it though

Also, you won't be able to get status updates from the case number on NOA1. You will have to wait for your biometrics letter that will have a different case number that you use for tracking. That will come a few months after they receive your packet

Ok thank you. Im just worried about missing a letter and appointment. With the AOS i could make preparations when the case status online would say something like "xxx sheduled, letter sent with date".

Unfortunately, case tracking isn't as smooth as AOS. We are going through ROC now and since they are so backed up at CSC that are waiving biometrics and using them from AOS, of course no refund on the Bio fee.

We filed in March and have only received NOA1 and the letter stating the bio was waived. We literally could have been out of the country this whole time and missed nothing. Depending on where you file yours, it will be at least a year before there is any movement on your case.

Waiving would be perfect :) Hopefully they will waive the interview as well then haha. Its quite a drive to the USCIS office.

Sorry to hear its taking this long. Lots of uncertainty and a stressful period. I hope you will hear something soon. Thanks for your reply i appreciate it.
