'In line for your oath ceremony to be scheduled' for two months

Hi fellow VJ-ers,

My spouse had account online updated to say he was placed "in line for your oath ceremony" on June 17. We're still waiting for the ceremony to be scheduled. We know this happens once/month as we're in Washington, D.C.

My question to you all is-- once it hits 60s days, is there anything we should do? Should we reach out to USCIS? Our (non-voting) Congressperson?

Thanks!

Hi,

Is it the https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do account or the https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ account?

The 'egov' account is the old one but persons still get case updates on there. The 'dhs' account is the new platform for tracking case updates, so maybe try there. You can also try calling USCIS and speaking to a rep about the status update.

I would recommend you to schedule an infopass appointment as soon as possible. They will be able to help you. Two months is a long time. Best wishes

I agree with this advice. Plus, I would call the support line too. Maybe they can't help you other than to repeat the status but the squeaky wheel often gets the grease. A call might trigger someone in that office to schedule your appointment.

Thank you @Amadia-- we were indeed looking at the old account. The new one said the same, but it's good to be on the most current platform!

It might just be that slow. If you can find other local people on VJ or FB or elsewhere who had an oath ceremony recently you can ask them how long they waited. Here in Richmond my ceremony was almost three months after my interview.

Thanks @Name O Boy and @Russ&Caro-- we just spoke to the support line. Unfortunately, we are within normal processing lines (4-5 months) and he can't put a support ticket in until then.

But, we're going to schedule an InfoPass appointment.

Hi, I am in Richmond VA and have been in line for oath ceremony for almost four months after my interview.

Just holding on tight and trying to keep sane.

My interview was May 10th 2017 and my oath ceremony was August 2nd. I think they mailed the oath ceremony letter on July 6th and I received it on the 11th. Other local people had similar waits at the time. So you have been waiting longer but it is possible they have just gotten more backlogged in the year since then. 😕 I used to think they only did it one Wednesday a month, but they actually do it more often than that, and they had two ceremonies back to back on my day, both full... They might just not be keeping up with the increase in applicants.
Although I found someone on VJ who, earlier this year, only waited a month between interview and oath. BUT their interview was postponed by several months due to snowstorms, so maybe USCIS bumped them up the oath list??

I will schedule an infopass and see what's causing the delay.
