Hi, I recently received a letter from the USCIS benefits center requesting more evidence for my case. They just wanted a copy of my husband's most recent tax return. As we filed in January I can understand why they would want this info as he didn't receive his W-2 until April this year. My question is how long does it take to hear back from them? Approximately? Thanks ☺

Oh he did get it in January, my apologies but we filed before he received it and I had to apply itin number so it took a few months for him to get his tax return but that's nothing to do with my  i485 lol

Been 7 months and they just got back to you, most people heard in 6 weeks to Send 2017 taxes. That is rather crappy. If you dont have your EAD/AP I would reach out to the ombudsman in 7 days time they for sure will consider your case.

We filed i485 AOS in January not the request for evidence. We received that Friday and they got the evidence they needed yesterday. Just wondered how long it would take them to respond to the rfe but no one seems to know so back to the waiting game lol

Many people who filed in Q1 even march on this website got the exact same RFE, up to 6 weeks or earlier after their filing date. You seem to be super patient that is fine, just letting you know that is not the norm.

Even if I've already had my biometrics?

@A&H2018 point was that you filed in January
You are NOW in August, getting an RFE for something people that filed in the same time period you did got  like 6 weeks after (i.e. March/April)

So he's saying that it's odd that others got their RFEs in march/April and you're now getting yours in August.

Your timeline is not updated
So s/he is also saying that if you filed in January and have yet to get EAD, contact  ombudsman

I filed in October and received the same RFE a month ago. I had my interview yesterday and everything was fine.

Got the same RFIE shortly after I filled in Jan 2017. Responded to it in March 2017 and received an interview date in May 2017. But I guess waiting times are different for everybody

You might not receive any response to the evidence you submitted. I received an RFIE a month after I filed in November (not for the same issue as you). I supplied the info they requested and didn’t hear anything else until I got my interview notice.

Thanks everyone I know the wait time for my lockbox was between 9months and 27.5 so I just responded quickly and hope for my interview soon 👍
