Hi,

My wife (the Beneficiary) changed her passport back in her country after I submitted I-130 to uscis so that she could take on my last name       ( the Petitioner). We are married legally and have a married certificate. However, should this be a concerned or issue with the immigration process?  The I-130 I submitted,  for my wife last name, I used my last name( the  petitioner) the same last name she now have on her new passport (my name). And on the application where it ask for previous name I put my wife original maiden name. I was worried too because on the application it had asked for my wife passport ID number in which I put but now that she have a new passport she have a  different ID number on her new passport and her old passport was canceled. Is this a problem too? Should uscis be informed of her passport change?

It is NOT an issue.  You only complete the section asking for the passport number IF the beneficiary is currently in the US.  If you put it in anyway, no worries.

We are in the same both. I changed mine from maiden to married name after nvc received our approved petition from USCIS.

Sent NVC my new passport bio data page(married name).

I will be taking both passports to the embassy for my interview in case need arises.

Hi, my petition is not approved yet but it is expected to be approved soon. You think I should do the same too, to obtain a copy of my wife passport bio page and when I get to the NVC stage sent that bio page to them too.  And was your old passport canceled too when you got the new passport?

thank you!
